Chapter 3 – Thoughts
Delilah was still wondering about the handsome brooding man when Sarah came barreling in through the kitchen door.
“You met Zachary Jones?” Sarah asked in awe still trying to catch her breath.
“Who is Zachary Jones?” Delilah asked confused.
“He’s the next best creation god made after pizza and I heard you met him yesterday!” Sarah cried.
“Look here Sarah. God’s made some other wonderful creations I’m sure you haven’t heard about. There was this one man he created, Hercules was his name….”
“Ya ya I got that. But how was he up close?” Sarah asked interrupting.
“Who? God?”
“No idiot! That hot piece of meat! Oh for god’s sake I meant Zachary Jones.” Sarah said relieved to see the confused look go out of Delilah's face. Sometimes Delilah was so hard to communicate with!
“He is very brooding. But it was very sweet of him to help me.” Delilah said nodding.
“Sweet? Yes you’re the only one who would call that hunk of a man sweet.” Sarah said sighing.
“Ok he was very handsome too. He has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.” Delilah added after a second.
“Holy shit! You’re attracted to him aren’t you? Sarah asked mouth gaping.
Delilah sent her a disapproving look.
“You do not use holy and shit in the same sentence Sarah! “ Delilah said chiding.
“You just did” Sarah pointed out laughing. “you’re such a goody two shoes! It’s like you were bought up between saints and angels!”
Delilah just smiled. “You never know.”
“Ok so back to the Adonis. You find him attractive don’t you?” Sarah asked beyond excitement.
“I don’t know him Sarah! I can’t answer that and plus its getting very late.” Delilah said getting up and trying to get away from Sarah’s questions as fast as she could.

Delilah finished her work at 7 pm and walked out of the diner after saying her goodnights. She happily skipped on the road taking her own sweet time. She turned left to go down an alley when she noticed a black car sitting in the parking lot.
She slowed down her pace and walked slowly wondering why the car gave her the chills. She looked for a little longer and thought she could see red eyes. She jerked and ran down the alley as fast as she could. She reached her apartment building within minutes. She slowed down her pace and started walking.
She thought she saw a flash of white in the corner of her eyes. she turned but nothing was there maybe it was just her imagination.
She walked into her apartment and bolted her door, changed out of her uniform and settled down on her chair. She didn’t have much furniture yet. This was all new to her cooking, cleaning, laundrying. When she was in the heavens she had just worn a white dress which cleaned itself with a wave of her hand. Now she couldn’t do anything with a wave of her hands. People would think she was crazy.
She took a mug of hot chocolate and settled in front of the tv, but she wasn’t watching it, her mind was on Zachary Jones.
She remembered the flare in his eyes when she had neared him. She couldn’t forget, he had such beautiful eyes. There was something nagging in the back of her head, the men had called him alpha. Yes that was it. She remembered the tales she had heard about the children of the moon the wolves when she was a child and watched them from the sky. Now her mind was running miles a minute. Was Zachary Jones a werewolf?

Zach walked away from the apartment telling himself that he wasn’t being protective, he was just checking the perimeters. But he looked around once more to sense any danger. Once satisfied he ran into the woods.
“Delilah” the name rolled of his tongue like dark chocolate as he shifted to his human form. He liked it. it suited her. ‘delicate’ that’s what it meant.
“Delicate” he thought again remembering her tiny frame, her breathtaking face and beautiful hair. She looked like a porcelain doll.
Zach didn’t like the direction his thoughts were taking. He wanted to hate her. She couldn’t become his weakness and he would never trust her. He had a pack to protect.
His father had done the same mistake and now he was dead. He needed to keep his head sane. That aside, he was sure there was something different about her. she didn’t smell like a human and he wanted to know if the rogues that were watching her place knew about it.
He silently walked back through the woods towards her apartment building and climbed up to her window. He tried opening the window and it opened easily. It wasn’t locked.
He scowled. “What the hell was she thinking? Not locking her windows. If he could get in, anyone could! She needed to take better care of herself!” he thought furiously.
He jumped through the window and looked up. His anger left him. He just stood staring. Delilah was curled up in a chair sleeping, holding a mug to her chest. She looked divine. Like an angel. He shook his head off his thoughts and told himself he just wanted to come here to see if he could find any clue about what she really is.
He moved forward and looked down at her. She mumbled something and shivered in her sleep. He immediately looked around and walked toward a cupboard got out a blanket and slowly tucked it over her. She sighed and cuddled into the blanket.
He stood there not understanding the feelings flowing through him. It almost felt like tenderness.
