Chapter 10 – the truth

Zach paced the length of the library his mind muddling over what had happened in his bedroom. He had forgotten Delilah was supposed to be in that room and he had used the shower. He had almost kissed her. His wolf had started acting up more now, it was hard keeping him I control. His wolf wanted to mark his mate immediately and didn’t want her going around men without his mark on her neck.

Her scent was still off. It didn’t smell human. Zach shook his head and sat down on the sofa.

Jason walked into the library and stopped in front of Zach.

“Alpha the Luna has left the house.” He said looking alarmed.

Zach immediately jumped up “what? Where were everyone when this was happening! I’m going to find her” and he left.

Jason stared after Zach astonished. This is the most Zach had ever spoken to him and he looked so flustered. Jason tried to process what had just happened. Zach didn’t even question how he knew Delilah was the Luna, now it was pretty obvious that she is. But he had to keep it a secret , he thought the Luna was in some kind of danger that she didn’t know about, and he had to protect them both.

Zach turned into his wolf and followed Delilah's scent. His wolf was bursting for control, he was blaming him for leaving their mate unprotected. Zach ignored him and ran faster. He found her scent leading through the forest to his lake.

He slowed down and stalked closer to the bank and stood behind a tree so she couldn’t see him. She looked like an angel. She was wearing a white dress and stood in the middle of the lake looking enchanting. She looked like a goddess. Zach was entranced watching her. He shifted to his human form and pulled on his jeans he kept near the tree.

Suddenly she pulled out a chain from around her neck. It had a crystal hanging from it. She held it out on her palm and looked up. She closed her eyes slowly and held out her palm higher. All of a sudden the crystal started to vibrate and a bright blue light shone out of it.

Zach looked on shocked. He moved out of his hiding place and stood staring at Delilah. Delilah felt movement and immediately turned to look and saw Zach staring at her. She immediately dropped the crystal back into her dress and started to say something but was interrupted.

“What was that?” Zach asked quietly his hands to his side and legs parted. His stance clearly said don’t you dare mess with me.

“it is…..umm it is” Delilah stuttered not sure how to tell him.

“Don’t even think about lying to me” Zach said and moved forward. He caught her by the arm and dragged her to the bank and made her sit down.

She looked up at him silently and swallowed hard.

“I was trying to communicate with god” Delilah said.

“With a crystal? What are you really Delilah? Tell me. I know you aren’t a human.” Zach said staring down at her hard.
