Pj's POV
I turned a corner and found myself in the park.
Dan was sat on a bench, staring off into the distance.
He looked lost.
"Dan!" I shouted across to him, walking over.
His head shot up, relaxing when he saw me.
"What's this about?" I asked, as Dan rose from his seat to stand in front of me.
"You know." He replied. He exuded confidence and his threatening stance made me take a step backwards.
Despite only being a little taller than me, he was towering over me.
Was this even Dan?
Something wasn't right.
"Fight me then, you dick!" Dan yelled, moving towards me like a charged bull.
I swerved, turning around to get him into a swift headlock.
I knew defense, okay?
After a few seconds, I let go, and he moved away from me, regaining breath before glaring at me with eyes of burning rage.
"What the fuck, dude?!" He charged towards me again, fist outstretched and heading towards my face.I closed my eyes, waiting for the impact.
But it never came.
My eyes opened to see Dan's fist shaking inches from my nose. He seemed frozen in place.
"Dan?"
Then he collapsed onto the grass beneath him, sobbing into his hands.
His whole frame shook with emotion.
What was happening?
One minute he was angry, and the next...
Broken on the floor in front of me.
Heaving in deep shaky breaths.
Hands pulling at the hair on his head, desperate for something to hold on to.
"Dan, why are you-"
"It's just sweat." Suddenly his hands were lowered, and he was glaring at me through puffy red eyes and tear stained cheeks.
"It's nothing." He heaved himself up, like a wounded soldier, full of determination.
His hands steadied in front of him in fists, his legs bent, feet shifting from left to right.
"Fight me then, you weak ass!"
