I walked out of the apartment, not bothering to close the door.
Nothing mattered anymore.
As I emerged onto the rooftop, I stopped to see thousands of beams of sun shining down around me, concealing me in an orange glow.
Go closer.
My feet walked to towards the edge of the building, where a slight breeze whipped at my hair.
The sky was so pretty.
Pinks and reds and yellows intertwined with each other to form a swirling painting in front of me.
I watched as the clouds danced in front of the flaming ball of destruction behind them, blissfully unaware of the danger that life held.
Soon they would fall away into nothing - blown away by the dusk into whisps of white.
They would no longer dance their slow dance.
Only a pale and empty corpse would remain.
But no one would think.
No one would care.
They're just clouds.
Plenty more where that came from.
Just a mass of different particles.
It was inevitable they would fall apart at some point.
Why not now?
It's time.
My legs were was shaking as I stepped up onto the wall.
Tears dripped from my face, and I let out a final cry of pain and turmoil.
I closed my eyes, letting gravity take ahold of me.
