Waking up the next morning didn't feel real. Slowly opening my eyes to adjust to the light, I'm faced with a tired Piero sleeping right next to me. He looked so peaceful I didn't want to disturb him. That's when I noticed that he's already been awake. There was some food left over on the table, yet one full plate covered up saying my name on top. I slowly rose out of bed and waddled over to the table to take a bite of the pancakes that were left out for me. That's when I noticed that Piero also had woken up.
"Good morning, amore." He softly spoke, rubbing his eyes and sitting up in bed, "I was up early this morning to run some errands so I thought about getting you some breakfast when you finally woke."
"Did you try to wake me?" I asked him with a smile.
"I tried, but you were sleeping beautifully that I didn't want to disturb you." Piero chuckled, walking over to wrap his arms around my waist, "I have some news for you."
"And what does my prince charming want to tell me so early in the morning?" I smiled to him, resting my forehead on his.
"I talked to your sister, she's going to help us finance a house in Rome. With your consent, I want us to live there from now on." Piero smiled, continuing his sentence, "I don't think that you'll be safe in Venice any longer. So I thought into it as say a fresh start for us. After all, you did move away many years ago."
"But what about my father? Does he know about this?" I questioned him, raising my eyebrow slightly in concern.
"I've talked to him so don't worry. He's giving his blessing."
"I'm glad! Of course, let's go to Rome! Piero, amore, you know I've wanted to be with you for so long!" I giggled, wrapping my arms around him to drag him into a kiss.
However, I didn't get very far to his lips before I felt the wave of sickness overcome me. In a hurry, I pushed away from him and ran to the bathroom. Piero was right behind me as he rubbed my back as I finished being sick, sitting back against the wall. That's when me and Piero looked at each other, thinking the same thing at exactly the same moment.
"Do I need to run down to the store?" He asked me, cupping my cheek in his hand ever so softly.
"I think you know exactly what this means. So yeah, please do."
Later when Piero returned, I stood looking out of the balcony, thinking over what could possibly be the start of a new family. He called out my name as I turned back to him, his hand was extended with the pregnancy test in his grip. Carefully, I approach him and take the box. Opening it as I walked to the bathroom to follow the instructions. When I finished following the steps, I held the test in my hand as I cuddled into Piero's embrace on the couch. There we were, sat there waiting anxiously as every second passed. That's when the timer rang and I looked back at the pregnancy test first, Piero looking right over my shoulder. We both gasp as we read the results...
"Positive?" He spoke first, his hands shaking to touch my shoulders, pulling me back in his embrace as I sat there in his lap.
"Maybe I should take another?"
"You could try that, it's good that I bought two for you."
I walked back to take the second pregnancy test, but nothing changed. Both were positive. Approaching Piero, I began to cry and rushed into his arms as I felt his warmth comfort me once more. I felt overwhelmed, yet I need to ask him an important question to determine our future. But, he beat me to it.
"Fiore," He gently lifted my chin up to face him, our lips only inches away from each other. "Is this what you want? Do you want this child?"
"Of course I do, but the only thing I want to know is will this destroy your career? Being a father and a worldwide singer is going to be a hard challenge for you. I don't want this to be a burden on you.
"Oh Fiore." Piero sighed, pecking a kiss onto my lips, "This will not be a burden. Of course I'm willing to take this challenge as a family. You know, I've thought many nights about what will happen for us. And to think that my dreams have finally come true has made me so happy to be with you."
"Piero!" I cried out loud, "I'm really glad that you said that. Now I don't have to feel worried because I know you'll never leave my side."
"Of course I won't, you're my only grande amore. No one can ever replace you, and you know that." Piero smiled, and before I knew it our lips were touching as we spent the next hour in each others arms.

"Fiore??" Katia's voice crackled from the other side of a facetime call, "What's so urgent that you decide to interrupt our date?"
"Sorry Katia." I smiled along side Piero who was wrapped on top of my chest on the couch, "Piero's falling asleep so I wanted to tell you some news. Is Gianluca with you?"
"Yeah, he's right here." Katia giggled, pointing the camera to show me Gianluca sat on the couch as she sat next to him, "Now go on, tell me before I force it out of you."
"Me and Piero.. well..." I adverted my gaze from the camera, noticing Katia's smirk from the other side.
"Get in there!" Katia cheered, Gianluca cheering in the background of the call, "What came of it?"
"I was sick this morning so Piero went out to buy me some pregnancy tests. They both came back positive." I giggled, not holding my excitement back any longer.
"Oh my gosh!" Katia screamed, making Piero twitch slightly in his sleep.
"Katia shut up!" I exclaimed in a whisper, "You're going to wake him up and then he'll get mad when he hasn't slept!"
"Oh shit sorry!" Katia giggled quietly, "I'm just so happy for you two. Me and Gianluca will be back tomorrow so we'll come and see you on our travels back to his."
"Alright, I'm looking forward to seeing you."
When the call ended, I sighed in relief. Stroking Piero's soft hair as to my surprise he said something under his breath...
"Fiore... don't.. leave me..."
