"You're what!?" My sister exclaimed, spitting her coffee back into her mug, placing it back onto the table.
"It's a miracle, Vera!" I smiled, reaching over the table to hold her hands, "I never expected this."
"And what have you and Piero decided to do?"
"We've decided to keep the baby, when we move into the new house we'll design a nursery and that's all we've planned."
"Are you willing to tell father? I'm not sure he'll approve."
"Vera, what are you saying?" I raised an eyebrow in concern.
"I mean, you're nineteen right. And Piero is?"
"Piero is twenty one."
"Come on Fiore, he's going to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest soon. He's going to be worried for you throughout that time."
"But Vera, Eurovision is three months away. We've got time to prepare."
"Fiore, just listen to me." My sister sighed, "Moving into this house is going to take you at least a month or two. During this time you've got to have a meeting with a music industry that will have a possible effect on your career and Piero will need to focus on his vocals to participate with. Answer me honestly, I only want what's best for you. Do you want this baby? Is this what you and Piero want the most?"
I thought about it for more than a second. My thoughts going all over the place, thinking about all the possible journey's that could happen in the future. That's when I realized my mistake, I was jumping too far ahead. I reached for my phone inside of my coat pocket and texted Piero, telling him I was on my way to the new house down in Rome. His instant reply gave me quiet a shock as I knew he had a busy day painting and redecorating rooms. Grabbing my coat, I shook it over my arms and adjusted my shirt collar and skirt to make myself look presentable. My sister handing me my boots as I grabbed my car keys, hugging my sister goodbye. I only glanced to the side to give a sigh, as all my belongings from my bedroom were packed and ready to go.
Driving down the narrow road in Rome and parking up behind Piero's car seemed like a dream. I approached the front door that was surprisingly open and was greeted to the smell of fresh paint. I called upstairs for Piero, and that's when I saw his face for the first time today. He was covered in paint, and so was Gianluca, and so was Ignazio. Becoming startled, they all chuckled at me, Piero taking off his apron and coming down the stairs to give me a kiss.
"Now amore, what was it that you wanted to talk to me about? You know that you're not allowed in the house until it's done."
That's when I sighed, "Piero, I talked to Vera today. I told her about my pregnancy."
"Oh amore, what did she say? Is she happy?" I couldn't bear to see his smile.
"She made me open my eyes about the future. You've got the Eurovision Song Contest coming up, and I've got to go to a meeting about my possible singing career."
"Fiore, I'm most willing to do this. Aren't you?" I saw the sadness in his eyes again, and it struck my chest painfully.
"Of course I am!" I exclaimed hurriedly, "I just don't think this is the best time, don't you think?"
"What would you like to do? Terminate the pregnancy?"
"I think that'll be for the best."
"Wait, Fiore." Ignazio interrupted, "You can still have the baby you know."
"What do you mean?" I asked him, glancing towards him trying to understand the current situation.
"You'd need to protect this child, then maybe this child can take your career and Piero's career to help reunite your family?"
