Mazie woke up to screams. She bolted out of bed and ran to the window. She screamed at what she saw, the village was burning down. At that moment, she realized what Scar was saying. She got dressed as quickly as possible and grabbed her weapons.
"Mom?! Dad?!" Mazie yelled, running down the stairs.
"Mazie! We need your help..." Her mother said calmly.
"Yeah, I know! I'll get you out of here!" She interrupted.
"No, don't worry about us, Mazie. Don't even worry about the village."
"What do you mean?! I need to help!"
"No, leave this village, find him..."
"Find who?!"
"Everything you need to know us in your fathers satchel."
"Come on mom! I can help a tiny village!"
"No, it is not just this village. The world we know is being torn apart right as we speak. I know you can do it. Find him, and together, you will help everyone!" Her mother encouraged.
"Mother! Please don't joke around!"
"I'm not, you'll find the satchel under the hidden cave!" Her mother said, running to the door, "Go, NOW! They're coming for you!"
"Me?!" Mazie started, before she could continue she heard voices... and a match light up. She screamed and left, carrying her heavy sword behind her.
She ran the opposite direction. "Hidden cave...?" She pondered. Then the thought struck her. "SCAR?!" She yelled. Mazie smiled at seeing her furry friend. He barked, following her. "Hidden cave, Scar? Where is a hidden cave?"
He barked and sniffed her hand. She stopped running. "What...?" She panted. He faced to the East. She nodded. They both ran, Mazie following Scar. "Where are we going? And... I'm sorry! I shouldn't have run off like that! I was being stupid..." She apologized. He gave her a quick, 'I was right' look.
They ran through the forest, faster than Mazie has ever ran before. They stopped. "I see now!" Mazie laughed. "You're smarter than I thought..." She gave him a weak smile.
