She jumped out and started fighting with Paisley. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT WITH US?!" Paisley shouted at them as their sword collided.
He smirked absently, pushed Paisley aside and went straight for Mazie. "Her, not you, Neko. If you couldn't tell by now, I'm from the Tashi. The group behind the village, and who want Mazie dead."
"Why is it me?! I'm nothing important!" She snarled, trying desperately to at least leave a mark or two. But at this point, she was getting way more hurt than him.
Paisley growled and hit from behind, stabbing through his heart. Blood went flying everywhere. "Mazie will not die with me or her dog around. Most importantly, I will NEVER let her die of Tashi's twisted ways." She took her sword out as he fell over.
He coughed blood out. "I'll warn you, we won't give up on this mission. We WILL kill Mazie, and you if necessary." He looked at the wolf, nuzzling her. "And the dog. Just know once that's done, we're going for Le-"
Paisley gave one last stab, sending blood everywhere. She watched as blood pooled around him, staining his cloak.
"Y-you killed him..." Mazie gasped, shaking in place.
"There's gonna be lot's of killing for both of us on this trip. Plus, don't worry about the Tashi. They're not nearly as bad as the Etheron or Sandive."
"Why does their names sound like you just randomly thought of them...?" Mazie asked as Paisley pushed the dead man into the water.
"Don't really know, maybe they just got lazy with names. C'mon! We gotta keep moving if we're ever going to get to town by tomorrow!"
She nodded and followed Paisley.
