"Four score and seven years ago, I was forced by my parents to attend this school and learn about dead people and old things that don't really matter nor affect me in any way," Louis stated in a bored torn, causing everyone's attention to be given, including the disapproving teacher's.
"As like most students, I sat through the boring ass classes and listened to the boring teachers teach us about boring shit no one really cares about, but we have to sit and pretend like we do. And I'm very bad at pretending. As most of you may know considering I don't give a shit about this presentation," Louis said with a bright smile, turning to his angered teacher as students continued to snicker under their breaths. "How was that?"
She scowled as she glanced to her clipboard. "Mr. Tomlinson, thank you for that insightful report on Abraham Lincoln. But, you failed to grasp anything about him. Please, sit down. And I'd appreciate it if you joined me for detention all next week."
"Whatever," Louis shrugged and saluted as he walked to his desk. He sat down with his friends and they all patted his shoulder, laughing quietly. His teacher scoffed and wrote something down, probably a failed grade. Louis leaned back on his chair and rolled his eyes as he listened to this girl talk about Queen Elizabeth.
He glanced to the time and was pleased to see there were only a few minutes left. Estimating that meant she was the last person presenting. Louis ignored her presentation and snuck his phone under his desk for the rest of class. He wasn't a complete twat, but he didn't care about school. Like, at all.
Since starting secondary school, he lost all drive to do anything in class. People label him as the class clown, but he wouldn't personally. He just didn't care and liked to make a laugh out of everything. If people find it funny, then that's even better.
Class ended like he predicted, with the girl being the last to present. Louis got up and was called to the desk to get his detention slip. He lazily took it from her and nodded as she scolded him. He's gotten detention way more times than he likes to admit. That's why she just gave him detention, because everyone gave up on him. Usually the punishment would be worse. After he agreed to go to detention all next week, he walked out and was relieved that lunch was next. Louis walked over to where his friends were and high-fived them as they cheered him on.
"Dude, you were hilarious," Niall chuckled, tossing an arm around his shoulder.
His other friend, Aiden, exclaimed, "You told the school off, man. You're the king, bro, that was funny as fuck."
Before he could reply, they heard a voice whisper while walking ahead of them, "Right, cause being a total disrespectful asshole is hilarious."
The boys all heard it and Louis furrowed his eyebrows, turning to tell the guy off. However, he saw it was Harry who was walking ahead of them. He had his head down low and books held close to his chest. Louis' heart skipped a beat just looking at him. Eight years later and Louis is still head over heels for this guy.
Aiden scoffed, approaching the boy, "Hey asshole, speak up if you're gonna be a little shit."
Harry ignored him.
When he didn't get the response he wanted, Aiden roughly grabbed his arm, slamming him against the locker. "I was talking to you, dickhead."
Louis winced and hesitated before rushing over. He lightly grabbed Aiden's arm and tugged him away. Harry didn't look scared. If anything, he just looked bemused by the guy. Louis still felt terrible, though. Seeing Harry get thrown around like that didn't settle well with him. It broke his heart, watching the guy he loves get treated like dirty.
