The Nightmare

18.

             Mikey stood there holding the door handle, all that was left of the door.

"Come on!" Mikey hurried helping Lilly to her feet.

"Where?!" Lilly sobbed sitting back on the bed. "Its useless Mikey, we're gonna fucking die!"

"No we won't!" Mikey gulped picking her up.

              I reached for my grandmothers hand and held it. She cleared her throat and wiped her tears.

"Your mom..." She sniffed. "She messed with very bad people. If-If I had known you were going to that place I would've-"

"Please!" I gulped.

"Your mom was pregnant...I never knew!" She cried. "I didn't know until...until we found you near the river."

"What happened to mom?" I asked pushing for answers.

"She killed...All her friends." She cried. "She was never found. But...the stories are not true! That is not your mom! It's dark and manipulative....just like now."

"What..." I gasped feeling the hairs on my neck stick straight up.

"This is an illusion." She cried."I'm dreaming...and your still in the woods."

"No grandma Please-" I reached to hug her and she evaporated as the lights flickered. "No, no..." I gulped getting up from bed and tossing on my clothes. I slammed open the door and rushed out into the dark hallway. I have to find the others.

"Mikey!" I screamed running around the corner straight into a tree. "This can't be happening..." I gulped running the other way when ahead a few feet, she was there. Staring back at me with red glowing eyes.

"M-mom..." I whispered in pure terror. Hearing that word spill out of my mouth sounded so weird to me. She approached slowly, eerily while I stood frozen in fear. It took all my willpower to move and hide in a storage closet as I held it shut behind me. I shut my eyes tight wishing this was all a dream. Its got to be...I covered my mouth to stop making any such noise. I opened the door just a crack and saw her floating down the hall. She twitched and her black hand was long with sharp blackened fingers.

             Mikey had Lilly's arm around him as she limped and sobbed.

"Come on Lilly!" He said placing her on a chair near the window."Ugh Fuck! Open!" He huffed trying to open the window.

"Its no use Mikey!" Lilly sobbed giving up. "We won't get out." Mikey grabbed the IV pole and hit the window until it cracked.

"Come on get up!" He said picking up Lilly. She did so reluctantly as both slipped out through the broken window.

"Ow!" She groaned going through as Mikey climbed through. "I told you!" They climbed through a window but not outside...to another hallway.

"No..NO!" He gulped trying to hold his sanity together. "This window had trees and UGH!" He began hyperventilating while Lilly slid down the wall, sobbing."We aren't giving up! Come on!" He snapped dragging Lilly up and down the hall.

             The doorknob to the closet started turning, with me trying to hold it still. Please no...I repeated in my head. The knob turned scolding hot and attempting to touch it was unbearable.

"Fuck!" I screeched preparing to dash out the door. Once the door cracked open a bit I charged through and ran down the darkened hallway. When something tackled me down to the floor.

"M-Mikey!?" I panted staring up at him.

"Sam! Oh my god Sam it's you!" Mikey helped me up and hugged me tight.

"Lilly!" I hugged her tight, she was still in her hospital gown and crying. "How the fuck do we get out of here!"

"There's no way out Sam!" Lilly cried. "That bitch has us stuck here like a little game!"

"L-listen guys..." I stammered debating whether I should tell them the truth.

"Sam no time we gotta find a way out!" Mikey ushered pulling me and carrying Lilly.

"Mikey Listen-"

"Sam the main door!" Mikey huffed, up ahead was the main emergency room door. He placed Lilly down and pushed the door, only it wouldn't budge.

"Come on!" He said frustrated and kicking it.

"This is bullshit..." Lilly sighed.

"Mikey-" I gulped.

"Open for fucks sake!" Mikey sobbed still struggling with the door.

"Mikey!" I called his attention."Lilly's right... There's no way out."

"No..No!" He shook. "I refuse to believe that!" I bit my lip and clenched my fists.

"There's no escape...because we aren't even in a reality anymore." I cried. "This world doesn't exist."

"I know this is crazy but please Sam!" He sniffed. "Don't let it get to your head!"

"Oh for fucks sake Mikey!" Lilly stood up. "Doors don't just disappear into thin air!" Suddenly a thud sounded at the end of the hall. We all looked over. Another thud, followed by the hall closing in toward us.

"We're all gonna die!" Lilly cried banging at the front door. I stood frozen in fear while Mikey frantically looked for a possible escape.

"Sam help!" He shouted trying to open an emergency box. Inside was a hose in case of a fire.

"Here use this." I ripped off a sleeve of my shirt off and wrapped it around his hand. He quickly punched the glass as I pulled out the hose, It was heavier than I expected with the Metal tip.

"What we gonna drown ourselves?" Lilly scoffed giggling to herself.

"Pressure hose." He explained aiming it at the door. "Sam, Lilly stand back." I pulled Lilly behind Mikey as he turned it on causing the pressure to splash back at us. We gasped for air as we were thrown back and being sprayed with heavy amounts of water.

"Mikey!" I heard Lilly gasp. "Turn it off!" I shielded my face to keep from drowning and slowly it began dying down.

"Wh-what the fuck..." Mikey spat still holding the hose. A cold wind made my skin get cold as I rubbed my eyes.

"Haha this is fucking great!" Lilliana laughed. We were standing in the middle of the woods again, staring up at the dark menacing cabin again.
