The Nightmare

A rusty gold necklace with a red ruby as the pendant. I used my fingers to clean off the rust till I reached the pendant. I was rubbing the ruby when the red came off.

"Weird.." I said and dipped it into a small puddle of water. The puddle turned red as I cleaned the necklace. It wasnt a ruby, it was a white jewel. It was a nice necklace, I thought as I hung it around my neck.

            "Alright, Marco!" Lilly called out with her eyes closed.

"Polo!" Jerry chuckled hiding under the pier. Mikey swam behind the rock barrier and looked out at Sam. She looked like she was doing alright.

"Marco!" He could hear Lilly call out. He suddenly felt something brush up against his leg. Bubbles rose above and suddenly a head jumped up.

"Jesus Christ Dani!" He gulped as she chuckled biting her lip. Before he even had time to think She threw her hands over his shoulders and pulled him into a kiss. He closed his eyes for a split second and opened them to see, it wasn't Dani, it was Sam. He melted into the kiss placing his hands on her waist pulling her closer.

"I knew you still loved me." He heard her chuckle when he opened his eyes to see Danielle.

"W-wait..." He gulped pushing her back, realizing it wasn't Sam. He looked back on shore, Sam was still sitting on the rock. 

"What?" Danielle giggled trying to kiss him again.

"Danielle?!" He grabbed her shoulders and kept arms length distance apart from her."Th-this was uh-" he didn't even know how to word it. He SAW Sam.

"No don't say that-" she protested.

"Danielle enough!" Mikey snapped keeping his voice down."I-I thought..." His voice trailed off suddenly getting a shiver down his spine. "Forget about this. Okay?" He sighed swimming away from his hiding spot.

            "Lets get back to the cabin." I heard Mikey sigh as I handed him his towel. He looked pale and confused.

"You feel alright?" I asked zipping up my jacket.

"Mhmm." He hummed throwing on his hoodie. "Just feel...lightheaded. Too much fun, I guess." He smiled weakly as we locked eyes. "You know I love you? Right?"

"Of course." I smiled, something was off about him. He seemed tense and confused.

"Heading back already?!" Jerry called out as he floated on a donut smoking up.

"Yeah!" Mikey called out.

"I'll see you later!" Jerry responded and let out a smokeful of air. Lilly was hanging around him, smoking as well. Danielle walked out of the lake, she was smiling and tossed me a wink. At me? Or Mikey?

"Come on." Mikey sighed picking me up bridal style. "I don't want you to hurt your ankle." He smiled kissing my cheek as he walked.

"I'm hungry." I sighed rest my head on his shoulder. He really was a one of a kind guy.

"I can make you a sandwich." He replied as he walked down a hill."I have a surprise for you tonight."

"Oh?" I raised my eyebrow in curiosity. "What is it?" I smiled.

"Something." He smirked winking.

"So vague." I chuckled kissing his cheek four times. "Tell me!"

"Uff." He huffed leaning against a tree. "Let me rest first."

"Put me down babe. It won't hurt if I lean against the tree." I said as he slowly put me down as I stood leaning on the tree. He locked eyes with me and caressed my cheek putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Your amazing." He smiled. I blushed and rolled my eyes."I would risk everything that is good, if it means you staying with me." I let out a small sigh remembering that he was leaving to UNAM next week. I wouldn't stay with him than...I noticed his face had saddened a bit. I know he was conflicted about something. "Sam I-" I felt a heavy hard blow to the back of my head. I got extremely lightheaded and fell to my knees as Mikey helped ease my fall.

"Sam!" I heard his voice, but I was so deafened I could barely hear it. My vision began to get very blurry as I reached the back of my head and looked down at my hand. It was blood...

         "Sam..." The voice whispered followed by an eerie giggle. But the voice...it wasn't just one voice. It was like numerous voices mixed into one. But all female. I woke up laying down looking up at the tall trees. It was dark, I sat up. Everyrhing was quiet and still... I was dreaming. Suddenly I heard a distant roar of static...quiet at first than proceeded to get closer. Not knowing what to do I scattered up and ran.

"Stop it!" I yelled still running as the static got louder as if it was chasing me. Panic and fear were at my throat as I tried to think. The static got unbearably loud to the point it was hurting my ears. I stopped and knelt down covering my ears and shutting my eyes. I screamed but I couldn't even hear myself. The static was right on me, paralyzing me with fear. Suddenly, it went silent. I didn't move but I trembled in fear. Suddenly an eerie voice whispered in my ear.

"Found you."

             My eyes fluttered open, relieved that I was awake. My heart was pounding in my chest and I could feel pain throb at the back of my head. I was in my bed back at the cabin.

"Goddamit Danielle!" I heard Mikeys voice downstairs. "Tell the truth! Did you do it?"

"I fucking didn't!" She defended as I slowly began to sit up. My head felt really heavy and the pain wasn't helping. "Yes! I fucking hate her! I hate her for being in our group! For interfering between me and you!"

"We broke up!" Mikey raised his voice. "I love Sam! Get it in your head!"

"Yeah?" I heard her snicker."Didn't seem like it back at the lake when-"

"Okay, Cool it!" Jerry joined in putting a stop to it. "What's wrong with you two! This is supposed to be a fun week! And so far its been nothing but bickering about the past!"

"I'm gonna go check on Sam..." I heard Lilly sigh.

"Yeah, make sure she isn't dead." Danielle mumbled.
