Being there for Billy

Jake pov

"Jake" Ness yelled from the kitchen I ran over to her. "What's wrong are you okay" I asked her. "Grandma Sue is on the phone she is crying" Ness explained handing me the phone. I took the phone from her. "Hello" I said. "Jake your father has had a heart attack" Sue told me crying. "What is he alive when did this happen" I asked shocked. "Yes he is alive but it's real bad. It happened a few hours ago. You need to come bring Doctor Carlisle he may help. Can I speak with him now" Sue asked. I felt the tear come down my face. I called for Carlisle he came and took the phone. I fell on the floor Ness came down with me. She was hugging me I hugged her back. "I can't lose him too, I lost you already, I can't lose my dad too" I said hugging her. "What are you talking about, what's wrong with Billy" Ness asked sounding worried. "He had a heart attack it bad" I answered. She started to cry "No no no" she cried I held her trying to comfort her. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you" I said feeling bad. She put her arms around my neck and sat on my lap "No Jake I'm sorry" she said. Bells came up to us after a little while. "Jake you need to get going me and Carlisle are going with you" Bells said looking down at us. I looked up at her "Okay" I replied. "I'm coming too" Ness said to Bella as we got up. "Nessy you have school and we don't know what's going on it's better if you stay home with your father" Bells replied. Ness put her arms around me, I held her close to me. "I love Billy like a grandfather I have to be there for him and Jake Mom please" Ness asked. "Bells I need her" I said almost in a whisper "Please let her come" I begged. "Okay Jake she will come and so will Edward" Bella replied. "Thanks" Ness said to Bells. I still had Ness in my arms. "He will be okay" Ness said looking up at me. "Its time to go" Edward said walking in the kitchen.

I got in the back set with Ness Edward was driving his car with Bella was in the front seat with him. Carlisle was taking his car. Ness moved over to me and put her head on my chest I put my arms around her. She was still crying I held her the whole drive to La Push. We got to the hospital I got out the car Ness took my hand in hers "I'm here for you Jake" she said looking at me. "Thanks Ness that means a lot" I said as we walked in the hospital Sue and Charlie walked up to us. Sue hugged me and Ness was in Charlies arms crying. "Where is my Dad" I asked. He's in with the doctors we can't go back" Sue cried. "The hell I can't" I replied. I walked up to the nurse "I'm Jacob Black, Billy Black is my father I need to see him" I said to the nurse. "I'm sorry but he is being worked on" she replied. Carlisle came over to us. "Hello I'm Doctor Carlisle Cullen I was told that I would be able to work with Billy Black's doctors" Carlisle told the nurse. "Yes Doctor Cullen we have been waiting for you come right this way" she said smiling at him. I couldn't believe she was trying to flirt when my Dad could be dying. "Jake I will do every thing I can I will be with him the whole time but I need you to stay here son" Carlisle told me putting both hands on my shoulders. "Please Carlisle I can't lose him too" I said looking at him. "I know son I will be back as soon as I can" he replied and walked away with the nurse.

My sister Rachel came over to us she was in tears."Jake" she cried hugging me. "Its ok Rachel he will be fine Dad is strong" I said trying to make myself believe it too. "I know" she said and pulled away. She hugged Ness. "I missed you" Rachel said to Ness. "I missed you too" Ness said back. Paul came over to us. "Hey man" Paul said and took Rachels hand. "Hey" I replied. I was up against the wall Ness was next to me. I saw her wipe her eyes out the corner of my eye. I looked over at her she had tears running down her face. I pulled her over she put her face in my chest I held her. "It's okay Ness" I said. She looked up at me with them big brown eyes "I'm sorry. I'm supposed to be here to help you and your taken care of me" she said sounding so sad."Renessmee if you weren't here I would be going crazy. You being here is helping me. I know you love my Dad too this is hard for you but you are helping" I explained looking down at her. She put her head back to my chest. "I love both of you" she said in a low voice. "I love you too" I replied. I walked over to some empty seats holding Ness's hand. I sat down and she didn't take the seat next to me like I thought she would she sat on my lap. I put my arms around her.

It was almost three in the morning. Rachel was sleep next to me in Pauls arms. I looked down Ness was sleeping to in my arms. Bells sat down in the seat next to me. "Are you okay" she asked. "I don't know" I answered honestly. "You want me to take her" she asked looking a Ness. "No I need her if I let her go I will lose it Bells" I answered looking down at Ness. Bella shook her head and said "Then hold her Jake". "I know this is hurting her this might be to much for her being here but I'm glad she is. I know how messed up that makes me I am supposed to keep her safe and put her first" I said feeling low. "Jake she is strong she can handle being here. It doesn't make you messed up for needing the person your in love with at a time like this. You have always put her first and keeped her safe Jake always and yes this is hurting her she loves Billy and you she had to be here for you both that was her choice to make not ours" Bells replied being the great friend that she has always been. "I know when Dads better we will go back to how things were, I know I lost her" I replied. Bella is the one person other then Ness that I can really talk to, she knows me better then anyone. "Maybe not" she said looking at Ness.

Carlisle walked in the waiting room. "Jacob" Carlisle said and Ness head popped up. "How is he" Ness asked. He smiled at her "I was just about to tell Jake that we got him into surgery he did great he is resting comfortably in his room" Carlisle answered. Ness jumped up "Thank you so much Grandpa" she cried hugging him. Rachel woke up and Carlisle told her the same thing he told us. "I think it's better if just a few go in to see him for now" Carlisle added. "Can Me, Ness, Rachel and Paul go in now" I quickly asked. "Yes that will be fine" Carlisle answered with a smile. Ness took my hand and we walked to Dad's room.
