Optimus' holoform...
It was the night of the party, and my holoform was standing with Agent Fowler and his employer, whose name I (and the author) had forgotten. Mostly I addressed the man respectfully as 'Sir', but my mind was mostly elsewhere. Chardirakii hadn't arrived yet, but I assumed she might be having trouble finding the place. I had given her an invitation so she could get in without trouble. After about an hour or so, I was beginning to think Chardirakii had gotten lost, or forgotten, when the door opened again and I saw her. Well...her holoform, but I'd recognize that smooth, graceful walk anywhere. Chardirakii looked absolutely stunning! Her hair was twisted behind her head in a tight bun, but only slightly so that most of her hair fell down her back in black fading to pink waves. She wore a slim black dress with magenta trim details on it, and climbing vines and flowers embroidered up the fabric. Also she wore long black gloves that matched her dress that went up over her elbows. I thought she looked absolutely beautiful, even with only a light pink lipstick and no other make-up. "Wow," I heard Fowler breathe beside me and wondered if he'd seen Chardirakii too. No, he was only quietly showing his awe at a story his employer was telling us. "Excuse me please, Sir," I said, politely excusing myself from the two. I made my way down into the groups of people and searched for Chardirakii amongst them. I noticed a flash of black ducking into the gardens and followed. But when I stepped outside, no one was there. Sighing, I was about to head back in when someone tapped me on the shoulder. "I didn't think you'd give up on me that easily," Chardirakii's voice said lightly from behind me. I turned and smiled,"Good evening, Chardirakii." Chardirakii bowed her head,"Good evening to you as well, Prime. You look...handsome." I blushed slightly and looked down at my slightly too-tight dark dark blue suit and red tie,"Thank you." I then took her gloved hand and gently kissed it,"You look stunning, as always." Now it was Chardirakii's turn to blush,"Thank you, Optimus." I smiled and dropped her hand. "Will you walk with me?" Chardirakii asked, lifting her eyebrows slightly. I nodded and offered my arm to the femme, who seemed happy to take it. Together we walked in the quiet garden, passing by bushes of roses and forsythia before stopping at a fountain in the middle of a lilac garden. The sweet scent of the flowers surrounded us as we just stood there. I glanced up at the moon, a full glowing orb gazing down softly on the planet. With a start I realized my fingers had twisted around Chardirakii's, holding her hand. I mumbled a quick apology and let go. Chardirakii didn't seem to mind or notice as she gazed up at the moon. The light reflected off of her human face and I marveled at just how beautiful she was despite having power over the most feared thing in the universe. "Do you ever look at the moon, and think of it as a guardian?" she finally asked. "A guardian?" I asked with a slight frown. "Yes," Chardirakii replied somewhat dreamily,"A guardian that watches over you, who keeps you safe. Someone who'll always be there for you. And even when you can't see it, you know it'll be back soon to comfort you once more." I looked back up at the moon, then at Chardirakii again,"Sometimes I think of it as a watchful warrior. A judging optic." Chardirakii smiled slightly and looked down at the ground. I reached over and took her wrist in my hand,"How is your wound?" "Healing," was the soft reply,"You have good medical skills." "I learned from the best," I said,"I didn't study only fighting when I became a Prime." The chords of music reached my ears and a bold idea struck me. "Uh...Chardirakii, would you care for a dance?" I asked, bowing. "I...don't know how," Chardirakii replied, fiddling with her fingers,"I was never taught." "There's a time and place for everything," I quoted, then turned her to face me,"I can teach you." "Right here? Now?" Chardirakii asked, her eyes widening. "I can think of no better place nor time," I replied. A soft blush colored Chardirakii's cheeks, but she nodded. "Okay, so I put one hand here," I said, stepping closer and putting my left hand on her waist just above her hip,"You put one hand on my shoulder like this." I took her right hand and lightly pressed it to my shoulder, then held her left hand. "Now we just...move," I said, gently swaying from side to side. Chardirakii moved with me, and stepped when I stepped, sometimes missing and stumbling, but I kept a gentle, yet firm grip on her waist and held the femme upright. Chardirakii learned quickly and we were both twirling around the fountain, smiling. I couldn't pull my eyes from Chardirakii's. It was as if I was under some sort of spell that the goddess had cast over me. If that was the case though, Chardirakii seemed to be under the same influence. Our bodies pressed closer together and our steps slowed. My hand slid from Chardirakii's waist to her lower back and pulled her closer. Our dancing stopped completely as the final notes of the song died away, but we didn't step apart. "Chardirakii..." I whispered, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear, lightly caressing her cheek as I pulled my hand back again. "Yes?" she asked softly, her face flushed from the exhilaration of the dance and possibly from how close we were together. "Chardirakii...no matter how many times you push me away...tell me to leave you be...I know that I cannot," I said, resting my hand against her neck and brushing my thumb under her jaw. "Is it because...because?" Chardirakii started, then gasped sharply as I stepped closer. She stepped backwards and pressed the back of her legs to the marble seat of the fountain, putting her hands back against it to steady herself. My eyes were half-closed as I leaned even closer, putting my hands on the marble on either side of her, bumping my nose softly against hers. "I...I think I'm in love with you, Chardirakii," I whispered. Her breath was hot against my lips. I wanted to kiss her so badly, to hold her to me and never let go. Would she accept it though?
