I was restless. Chardirakii had gone into heavy labor late last night, and now the sun was just barely beginning to touch the base she was still in the med-bay with Ratchet. It was difficult to stay where I was. Chardirakii was registering great discomfort through our bond and I longed greatly to be at her side, holding her servo and comforting her. The hours went past agonizingly slow. My team-mates awoke amd entered, and upon seeing me in such a stressed state immediately knew what had happened. ::How long has she been in there?:: Bumblebee whirred. "Since 12:46 am," I replied wearily,"I am very worried." "Don't be," Arcee reassured me, setting a servo on my arm as high as she could reach,"Chardirakii is a strong and brave femme. She will be alright." Suddenly Ratchet poked his helm into the main room,"Optimus, you may see her now." Ratchet stepped out amd I stepped in, my spark racing in my chest-plate. Chardirakii was lying on the medical berth with three bundles in her arms. When she saw me, her beautiful smile and exhausted, but proud. I slowly approached the medical berth, only partially aware of my team-mates peeking inside amd hissing at each other to keep quiet. I sat down beside my Sparkmate and tenderly rested one digit on one of the bundles. "Would you like to hold one or two of them?" Chardirakii asked me. Still unable to speak, I merely nodded, then carefully lifted the little bundle of dark-grey cloth into my arms amd cradled it. I pulled back the blankets a little to see a tiny sparkling face-plate stare up at me. It was a mech, with shocking blue optics and a black and blue helm. Small green biolights glowed along the blue parts of his armor. When he saw me he looked slightly confused, but not afraid. "That one was born second," Chardirakii explained,"There is another mech, who was born first, and a little femme, who is the youngest by an hour." I handed the youngest mech back to Chardirakii, then picked up the oldest. He had dark blue optics the color of the deep ocean. His armor was black and red with greenish-blue flame designs just barely visible. He gazed up at me with curiosity as his one servo's tiny digits curled tightly around his moss-green blanket. Then there was the little femme, a sweet little thing. She had blue optics as well, but with bright magenta around the edges of her optics, and a light fuzz of black hair was already formed on her helm. Her visible armor was black and violet with little biolights that faded from red to magenta and two tiny silvery wings sprouted from her back-plates. When she saw me she looked afraid and made a scared cooing sound. I kissed her tiny, smooth fore-helm then handed her back to Chardirakii. "They're all so beautiful, my love," I whispered, leaning forwards and kissing Chardirakii's cheek,"What are we going to name them?" "We-ell...let's begin with the oldest," Chardirakii replied, looking at the red and black mech,"What should your name be?" "Glowfire?" I suggested. Chardirakii smiled,"That one sounds good already. Glowfire it is." Little Glowfire made a cute sparkling sound and I smiled at my oldest son. "Now, how about you, little one," I said, looking at the blue and black one. There was a little more debate over his name, and several possible designations were given as options. A few were Aquastrike, Darkwave, Brightsea, or Riptide. We decided on Tsunami instead. Finally we had to name the femme. I suspected she might someday grow up to be as beautiful as her carrier, a statement that brought a heavy blue blush to Chardirakii's face-plates, so I suggested we name her something elegant. Like Tsunami, there were many options for our little femme: Wingflap (Chardirakii hated that one), Windfighter (another dislike of Chardirakii's), or Clawstriker. All my ideas, none of them favorited by Chardirakii. "Hmm...how about something less warrior-like and instead...Galactia," Chardirakii suggested, looking lovingly at the little femme, who gazed back with her pretty optics. I smiled, all my own suggestions forgotten,"Galactia...perfect." After a while Chardirakii was strong enough to sit upright and Ratchet allowed the others in. Bumblebee loved each and every one of the sparklings, beeping and whirring excitedly about how much fun they were going to have together. Arcee fell in love with them too, and seemed particularly joyful to have another femme on the team, even if it was a sparkling. Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen seemed to like Tsunami and Galactia more, while the Wreckers grinned at Glowfire and assured Chardirakii he would make a great Wrecker. "No punching bags until he's at least able to fully pronounce sentences," Chardirakii said firmly, which made both bots snicker. "Yes, Momma Chardirakii," they said together. Chardirakii's face-plates turned an annoyed blue, but then Bumblebee asked to see Glowfire again, which distracted her a bit.
Time skip...a month later...
"Optimus! Where's Tsunami?" Chardirakii called from the main room. "Outside with me," I called back, then scooped up the little mech and cradled him in my arms. Chardirakii came back outside with the other two and switched them out for Tsunami,"I'm just cleaning them up. Can you watch Galactia and Glowfire for me?" I nodded and smiled,"Of course." We'd known from the beginning raising sparklings was going to be a challenge, but to our surprise, with Megatron gone permanently, we were able to focus more on our family and less on worrying about the warlord tearing us asunder. After a while Chardirakii came back outside with Tsunami and sat down in the soft grass, setting the sparkling beside his sister and brother. They were growing rapidly. Already Glowstrike was almost twice the size of his sister. Galactia pulled up a dandelion and handed it to Chardirakii. "Aww, thank you, sweetie," she smiled, taking the flower and hugging the sparkling femme. Bumblebee came outside with some large styrofoam blocks and volunteered for him and Smokescreen and Arcee to watch the sparklings while Chardirakii and I got some energon. We entered the storage room and I held Chardirakii's servo in my own. "I never thought I could be this happy," I said aloud, drawing Chardirakii's attention to me,"Not until I met you." Chardirakii kissed my cheek,"Do you regret it?" I set my servos on her waist,"Never." I leaned forwards and kissed her long and soft on the intake. The sparklings were in good servos for now, surely Bee, Smokescreen, and Arcee could handle them for a couple more minutes.
