I woke up in bed, the sheets wrapped around me. Jess was next to me with a pair of sweats. He was such an angelic sleeper, even though he snored a little, I didn't mind. His snores left my mind at peace, knowing that he was still next to me.
"Wakey wakey." I whispered, shaking his shoulder lightly. We had to get the plan in action.
"What?" He mumbled, stuffing his face into his pillow as he arm stuck out and wrapped around my waist. I yelped as he tugged me closer, causing him smirk.
"Get up." I smacked his shoulder. "We have to get going."
"But I want to sleep in with my love. Is that so much to ask muffin?" He questioned, pulling me closer.
"I promise you can sleep in with me for the rest of your life if you want to, but just not today." He groaned.
"I don't want you to do this. It's dangerous. Especially if Wes and I don't-" I cut him off.
"I know you two will. Besides I have many knives in the kitchen if anything goes wrong." He gave me an unamused expression.
"Like hell! Muffin I want a future, and that to with you in it. With little Babe's and Jess's running around. It's too risky." I cupped his face, holding back my cooing noises. He actually planned out our future.
"Do you trust me?" He huffed, rolling his eyes.
"Babe-"
"Do you trust me Jess?" He sighed out.
"Yes." I nodded, pecking his nose.
"Then let me do what I've go to do." He stared at me for a while longer, scanning my face, my hair, my eyes. Almost trying to make sure he remembered what I looked like if he lost me.
"Fine." He pulled me in for a hug, it was warm, cozy and safe. I wished that it didn't have to end. But it had to, so I could finally put a stop to Jake.
"Just have her ready." With that we both got up, I went to shower and get dressed, Jess had showered after his jog this morning so he went to make breakfast.
When I walked out into the living room I found Wes, he was lost in thought. I took a seat next to him. "What's got you in a daze?" I joked, trying to lighten up the mood.
"You know that this could either be really good, or really bad, right?" I sighed.
"I know." Jess walked out with a batch of muffins.
"A muffin for my muffin." He winked, handing them to me. Wes just rolled his eyes, at least they weren't arguing or getting into fist fights.
"Thanks." As soon as I bit into it, I knew why I loved Jess. The man could bake.
After breakfast both boys left as planned. I guess I should reveal the plan now, or part of it? Well they were going to meet Doc at a local diner. They were going to talk to her about my mental health like concerned friends.
That would mean Joseph would be alone at home, and would obviously come over. I would send the boys the emoji orange as the signal and they'd come home and have Doc catch her dad in the act. That is if it all goes as planned.
All I had to do, was wait. I heard Doc drive out of the garage and down the road. My heart beat skyrocketed immediately, to the point where is hurt. I was regretting this already.
I decided to switch on the TV to keep myself busy and not seem suspicious. It took approximately an hour of nervously biting my nails, shaking my leg and stress eating for the knock at the door to come.
I took a shaky breath and casually walked to the door, well I tried to. As soon as I opened it I saw ... Lexy? My face paled, this wasn't part of the plan.
"Lexy, oh my gosh, what are you doing here?" I asked, bringing her inside, and hugging her.
"Well I missed you Babe. I have no friends except you.. I had to see you." she shrugged, dumping herself onto my sofa.
"What about the cheer squad?" I asked, just hoping she'd leave. I needed to get Ja- I mean Joseph caught.
"They were bitches, once a bitch, always a bitch." I chuckled nervously, looking around the house. Something didn't feel right.
"Lex how did you get here?" I asked, trying to seem comfortable.
"Well I was texted by your Doctor, she said that having a close friend around would help with your treatment. She also said something about you being a social experiment where they refrained from asylum rooms and meds." Lexy shrugged.
But as soon as her words sunk in, I froze. "What do you mean, refrained from meds?" She looked up at me.
"Yeah, she said that's why you need a lot more emotional support."
"Lex, I've been medicated the whole time I've been here. Let me see the number that texted you." She handed me her phone, I silently read over the number and compared it to the one on my phone.
"Lex this isn't my doctors number." a painful pit formed into my stomach.
"What do you mean? It has to be." I shook my head.
"That isn't my doctor." I got up and began pacing. I knew who it was. But why would he want Lex here? That's when I realized, her hair was still short, and he could have seen her when she was copying my style.
"Lex, you have to get out of here now!" She frowned.
"What's wrong?" I began to shake, I wasn't going to let anyone else get hurt.
"You have to leave. Jake is here. He is going to hurt you." Lex frowned. I knew that look in her eyes. She didn't believe me.
"Where are your meds? What do I have to give you."
"Lex I'm not having an episode, please leave." I grabbed her arm and began to drag her out.
"It's too late." I froze, his shadow falling over my shoulder.
