More Than Teammates

Chapter 13

~Lili's POV~

I watched the boys warm up. After a while I started to warm up too. Coach came over to me.

"You need to break up with Jordan."

"What? Why?"

"I need him on the State team and he hasn't been putting in the work since he asked you out."

He walked away. I broke down. Jordan came over and pulled me into a wet hug.

"I know. I'm not breaking up with you because of him. Don't cry."

My tears slowly went away.

"Jordan this is going to suck, I mean my singing."

"You can do it."

When I sang I messed up a tiny bit but only because I had just stopped crying. When I was done Jordan kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed back. Coach decided to do diving first. I had to sit but the timing table but I watched all 5 divers. After diving, Coach came over to me.

"Lili can you do diving sheets?"

"Umm I don't know how."

"You'll figure it out."

He gave me the sheets and walked away. The diving coach came over and explained it to me. I probably messed them up but I blame Coach for this. When I was finished Jordan walked over to where I was.

"He didn't put me in the 100 fly."

"But he didn't the meet before we were dating. Maybe it's a coincidence."

"I don't think so."

~Jordan's POV~

"Boys Varsity 500 yard freestyle. Take your mark..."

The starter hit the beeper. I swing my arms around and dove into the water. I hate the 500. I'm not a distance swimmer. My goal was 6:00. I saw the counter hit 10. I felt the stinging in my body. I pushed through the pain. I had to get a best time, I needed to prove to Coach that I'm getting faster with Lili. When I saw 13 I knew I had to kick harder and increase the tempo. I raced the last bit. I saw 19. I hit my turn HARD and sprinted to the wall. I hit the touchpad. I didn't want to look at the clock. Once everyone finished I climbed out of the water. I quick glanced at the scoreboard. 5:57.49 Best time. Lili came over and wrapped her arms around my neck. She whispered,

"Being with her isn't helping you."

I smiled and kissed her. When I pulled away she was soaking wet.

"Sorry babe."

She just smiled. The last few races went by.

"Babe I'll drive you home."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

After the meet Coach came over to Lili and I.

"Maybe you two aren't so bad together."

"Jordan is the best, I'm so lucky to have him."

I slipped my arm around her waist and Coach cringed.

"You guys do this a lot."

He gestured at us.

"Yeah."

"It's what we do."

I wanted to kiss her just to piss him off but I want to swim the 100 fly next meet. He walked away. I leaned down and kissed her.

"Jordannnn."

"You make me like this."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"So I make you horny?"

"Very."

"Go change."

"Fine...I'm hungry."

"Jordan put clothes on! Then we can talk about food."

I kissed her before I joined my team in the locker room.

"So what are your plans with your girlfriend tonight?"

"I'm thinking about taking her out to dinner as a surprise."

"Awwww."

"Yeah."

"Jordan you're so good to her....but-"

I cut him off,

"She's too sweet and anyway I don't think she wants to."

"Really? She seems ALL over you."

"She's not all over me. I'm all over her, there's a difference."

"Whatever man."

I changed quick so I could take her out and get her home at a reasonable time. When I walked out she smiled at me.

"Jordan you're so hot."

"Where is this coming from?"

"I'm not allowed to tell you that you look hot?"

"No you can."I kissed her cheek, she's going to love this.
