“Are you ready, beautiful?” I heard Beau ask and turned around.
My jaw dropped to the floor as I saw him. He looked so amazing! “Oh my, you’re so...!” I had no words.
His smile grew and he came closer to pull me into a hug. “You’re not too bad yourself. You ready to go?” He asked and I nodded. He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers with a smile. I felt like I was flying! The butterflies in my stomach wouldn’t stop and I guess my face was as red as a tomato.
“Thank you.” I murmured and we went downstairs. We got out and there I found his car waiting for us. He opened the door for me like a real gentleman and soon we were driving down the streets to the cinema. “Do you want to eat or drink anything?” He asked in the middle of the cinema’s hall.
“Err, just a coke or something, please.”
“Okay, wait here, i’ll be right back.” He gave me the tickets and I smiled, grabbing them and watched him going to the food counter.
Someone tapped my shoulder and with a smile I turned around just to drop it. Quickly I forced a smile. “Hey, what are you doing here?” I asked him.
“I’m watching this film called ‘Forget the letters’, what about you?”
I think I paled a bit. Why was it so bad he was here? Maybe because I was here with Beau. “Same.” I smiled and held up the tickets. “Who are you here with?”
He looked around with narrowed eyes until his eyes became bigger and he smiled. He waved someone and soon a blonde girl stood next to him. “Marlene, meet Jamie. Jamie, meet Marlene.”
I shook the girl’s hand and suddenly felt insecure. She was stunning, surely she could have every boy she wanted just by snipping with her fingers. She had blonde wavy hair and green eyes. Her skin wasn’t pale but not tanned either but she was still beautiful. “Nice to meet you, Marlene.”
“Same to you.” I said and suddenly my throat was very dry. I looked to the food counter and right now Beau was getting our stuff. He had ordered two big beakers of coke and a huge bwol of popcorn. He paid and walked over to us. “Here.” He said without looking up and gave me one of the cokes. Immediately I took the straw into my mouth and drank. “Thanks.” I smiled at him and soon felt his arm around my shoulder.
“Hey.” Austin suddenly said and smiled at us.
“Oh. What are you doing here?” Beau asked, pretty rude.
“Going out with a friend of mine.” Austin smiled and our eyes met. He had a sparkle in his eyes and suddenly he winked. What the-?!
“Err, can we go inside already?” I asked and felt uncomfortable. Beau nodded and together we went to the door. We showed this guy or tickets and looked for our seats, 21A and 22A. I sat down on 22 and put my coke in the cup holder. Beau grabbed my hand and smiled at me. “Did he know we are here today?” He asked and I shook my head.
“There are our seats.” A female voice said next to me and someone took their seats. I couldn’t see who it was though because it was already dark and the screen wasn’t bright yet. I smiled at Beau who smiled back at me and then the person next to me tapped my shoulder. “Excuse me, could I put my drink in there?” She asked and pointed at the cupholder which was covered by my hand.
“Of course...” I lifted my hand and tried to find out who this person was – I knew her voice... Oh no! This was Jamie, Austin’s date! I paled and faced the cinema’s screen. Beau squeezed my hand and I smiled at him. “Everything alright, Marlene?”
“Marlene?” Austin suddenly asked and I turned to face him. “I guess that’s coincidence, isn’t it?”
I just nodded and turned back to the screen. Beau’s grip around my hand got even tighter and I relaxed a bit. Oh my, this was so weird. The film started and I managed to forget about Austin and Jamie.
