Previously:
"Everyone knows 48% of Omegas get rejected by their other half because their 'disappointed'," she argues, "I'm not going to be mated." And there it was. Her insecurities making her do stupid things.
"Livy you're beautiful. You're stronger than you look, and smarter than think." She smiled weakly. "I'm an alpha and I was rejected, I degraded myself a lot." I kind of feel the sadness again. "Listen, there's no calculations and percentages for any one or any rank so whatever statistics you think you have figured out, you don't." I tell her. I know it came off as a cruel, but it's the truth.
"Livy, I'm not the guy that try to score with any girl they can. I don't like taking someone's virginity with who I don't know if I want to spend the rest of my life with. I know I was arrogant, selfish, disrespectful person. But I respected women who couldn't find it in theirselves to respect themselves. Now I feel like shit because of a debt you think you owed me." I noticed how veered away from the main topic, and looking back at Livy her eyes were glossy and I could tell I somewhere along the line I cut her deep.
"I'm really sorry." She sniffed as she got up and tried to leave.
"Livy." I said, but she opened the door and left.
Fuck.
Lucifer POV
I'm running off of three hours of sleep. I feel like shit, and I certainly don't feel like being nice to anyone. Yesterday was good, then great, then really fucking shitty. I just wish I could have erased last night and redid it.
It's not that I don't like Livy, and it's not like she lied to me. But what is with women and blind obligations. The past two years she's been trying to figure out a way to thank me, and... and Cassandra been using the past five years of her laugh to try and thank Calvin...
Breakfast is being made and it's 8:12 in the morning, and the Red Moon pack arrived early. I'm guessing for social reasons, we are close to them, and our alliance stands the most important.
I'm not wearing my suit, it's not time yet, but I do look for Livy. The Omegas are working hard, but Livy is incredible at avoiding me. I'm also surprised no one said anything to me about her leaving my room crying. I'm not proud of it, but people have been nosey from the beginning, you'd think the whispers be louder at this point but when it's not it just means everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I finally leave the kitchen and go to common area to find my best friend, who was flirting with a elite female enforcer from Red Moons pack. I can tell she was considering him because her laughs were small, she was trying to hold them back. At least he's not screwing this up.
"Lucifer Dean Adams." I know that voice from anywhere, the deep voice of a natural villain, the slur of a drunk mans long night, but the energy of a fucking gremlin that's eaten after midnight.
"Hey, Alpha Darron." I greet. Alpha Darron Moore of the Red Moon pack. He's not old, but he's not young either. Maybe fifty years old, he's fun, scary, possessive, and intimidating all when he wants to be. You always have to be careful though. The switch between his emotions are very sensitive and I promise you, you won't see it coming.
"You know my daughter Canary." He says as he introduced her, but of course I know her, she's only a couple years younger than me, and would normally come over when Darron has work with my dad, now Max and Angel.
