"Oh, Cristal!" Ethan says in a sing songy voice.
I continue to run through the woods at full speed. I through a dagger in their direction probably missing. I don't look back. Ugh. Why do they go after kids first?
I hide behind a bush and wait for them to pass. "Where'd she go?" One of them says.
A twig snaps and they all turn to it, alert. "Over there!" Another points in the direction.
I sigh. That was close. I wait a while before standing up and heading the opposite direction of them. I keep my dagger out just in case. I look up at the sky and see its getting darker. Guess I should rest. I climb the nearest tree and tie the rope around me to make sure I don't fall. The anthem starts playing.
There's the girl from District 8. The boy from District 8. And the boy from 9.
I wonder what happens when they pick you up. Do they send you back to you District? Or do they keep you? Whatever. It's not like I'll ever find out if I'm dead.
I look up to the night sky. Good night Mom. Good night Dad. Good night Samuel. I miss you guys.

I wake up to the of a cannon. Who's dead now? How many people are still left? What if it's just me, Ethan, and his allies. He only has three more, so that means there's five of us left. Oh. And there's Christan. I wonder how he's doing.
I untie the rope from around me and place to in my pack. I climb down from the tree and look to make sure no one's around before walking. I really need a blanket for the cold nights. All I have is my jacket to keep warm and that barley helps! How did Katniss get through the Games without--nevermind. She had a sleeping bag. Why don't they put those in anymore? Or did all the bags with them get taken?
I hear distant talking. Their not that close. I'll keep walking. A arrow narrowly misses me and hits the tree next to me. I freeze.
"There she is! Get her!" Ethan says.
Great. No one like you Ethan! Your life doesn't even like you! I throw a a dagger I their direction and here a cannon go off. Score! I start running as fast as I can. I hear them getting closer each second. I can tell the cameras are on me and Ethan's group.
I jump over a log and right as I hit the ground I shoot right back up. I scream. I grab one of my knives and start cutting the net open. I go faster as I here the group get closer and closer. I make a big enough hole for me to jump out of. I instantly get back up and start running again. I don't dare look back.
I can feel my heart racing in my chest, the heat from the sun, the sweat on my face and forehead. And the wishing to get out of this alive. I have to. For my family. Or I broke a promise. I hear the leaves rustle under my feet as I run and my frantic breathing.
I fall onto my knees about to faint. I try to get up but keep falling each time. I hold onto a tree to help me up and keep my balance. I take one step and fall again. Again. Again. And again.
The group reaches me and I hear Ethan chuckle. "Looks like little warrior won't make it through the Games, will she?" The others laugh. Now I know the cameras are on us.
"Come on, Ethan! Put her out of her misery!" A girl says laughing.
I grab a knife and throw it at her using all my energy. It hits her heart and she falls to the ground. Lifeless.
Ethan's face turns red with rage and he raises his spear above his head.
"Please. . .don't. . ." I say weakly and barley over a whisper.
"'Dont'? Why shouldn't I? I need to win anyways. Unlike you. Have a nice death." He says before bringing the spear down on me. I scream as I feel it enter my back and rip through my heart.
I failed you guys. I fall to the floor completely. Lifeless.
