Chapter 6

Mira's POV

"Kat, can you come here?" I yelled from my room. 

Kat showed up in the doorway, "What do you need?"

I turned around, "Can you zip up my dress?"

Kat nodded and zipped up my dress, " You look great. Did Colby tell you where you were going?"

"He told me we were having dinner and then the second place is a surprise. He did say that the second place we're going to I'd need casual clothes so I need to pack a second outfit." Kat nodded and left the room. 

The dress I'd chosen wasn't very fancy. It was a plain black long-sleeved dress. It was a v-neck but the cut wasn't low enough to show any cleavage. My makeup was light; a small amount of eyeliner and mascara. For shoes, I chose to wear a pair of black heels that I thought would go well with the dress. My spare outfit was simple; a pair of black jeans, a Metallica t-shirt, and a pair of black and white checkered Vans. I put the clothes in a small backpack and walked, well, more like stumbled, into the living room. 

"Mommy you look so pretty," Lucas said when I entered the room. 

"Thank you, honey. Mommy won't see you until tomorrow, but Kat will be here with you, ok?" Lucas nodded. 

Kat spoke, "And Sam might be coming over as well."

"Sammy?" Kat nodded and I held back a laugh. 

Just then there was a knock on the door. I walked to the door and opened it to reveal a smiling Colby on the other side. He was wearing a white dress shirt and a pair of black dress pants. 

"Hey, are you ready to go?" He asked. 

"Yeah, just let me grab my bag." I went into the living room and grabbed my bag then walked back to the door where Colby was.

Colby pulled into the parking lot of a nearby restaurant and I was in awe. It looked to be extremely fancy and I was now thankful for having the dress I was wearing. 

"Reservation for Brock," Colby spoke to the hostess. She nodded and walked us to a table. 

"Here are your menus, your waiter will be with you shortly."

As soon as the hostess left, Colby and I looked down at our menus. The selection looked to be mostly alcohol and the only option I really had was water since they'd card me if I tried to order any sort of alcohol.  

"What are you getting to drink?" Colby asked, breaking the silence between us. 

"Water." 

"Why don't you order wine?"

"Colby, I'm not 21. If I try to order wine they'll probably card me."

"Good point. I'm gonna order water too. I want to be sober for our entire date." 

A waiter walked up to our table, "Are you ready to order your drinks?" 

"Yes. Two glasses of water, please," Colby spoke for the both of us. 

"Ok. I will be back with your drinks in a few minutes." The waiter wrote our orders on his notepad and walked away. 

"So, where are we going after this?" I asked Colby while we waited for our drinks. 

"I told you it's a surprise, I promise you'll love it," Colby said with a smile.

"I hate surprises. They always make me anxious."
