Previously:

Ava barged into the room, "Mira, get up, now!"

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, "What is it?"

"It's Lucas."

Present time:

"What's wrong with Lucas?" I was wide awake now. Colby sat up next to me, waking up as well.

"He's gone." Ava moved back and forth from one foot to another in the door.

"What do you mean ' He's gone'?" I began raising my voice, nervous for what she was about to tell me. There were a million different scenarios running through my mind. What the hell happened to Lucas.

"Here." Ava handed me a sheet of paper.

Dear, Mira,

I don't know what's gotten into you. You're so different from how I remember you. I know you don't want Lucas with me, but he needs a father. His real father. If you want to talk, you can call me, Lucas will be staying with me until then.

~Kaden

I dropped the note, frozen. I felt my heart stop and I began seeing black dots in my vision. It wasn't long before everything went black.

Colby's POV

I sat next to Mira on our bed. She's been knocked out for the past couple of hours, probably from the shock of Lucas's disappearance.

I have no idea how to help the situation. There's nothing I could give to Kaden that would make him give Lucas back to us. If anything, the only thing he'd want from me is for me to be dead, and that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

"Is she up yet?" Ava asked, looking into the room.

"No, not yet. She's still out cold." I looked back at Mira. She looked so peaceful while she slept, you'd never know how stressed she actually was if you'd only seen her while she was sleeping.

Ava sighed, "I think we may need to have Christopher take a look at her when he gets here, just to be safe."

I looked at her, "How long will it be until he gets here?"

"It shouldn't be too long. Alejandro put him on a plane last night, along with a ton of medical equipment, for any circumstances."

Not two seconds later, Ava's phone rang.

"Speak of the devil," Ava answered the phone, "Hello? Yeah. Oh, thank God. Yeah, I'll be down in a minute."

"Was that Christopher?" I asked.

"Yeah, he's here. I'm gonna go downstairs and let him in."

Ava left the room and I could hear her going down the stairs. I looked at Mira, she didn't seem as if she would be waking up anytime soon. I was beginning to get worried. I'm no doctor, but I don't think she should've been passed out this long.

A few minutes later, I could hear Ava's voice and a male's voice, assumably Christopher's, beginning to get closer as the sound of footsteps got louder.

Now, I'm not a very insecure person. But when Christopher walked in, I felt very insecure.

There was no way this man wasn't a model. His hair was longer than mine, not by much, but still longer, and a mixture of brown and blond. His eyes looked to be green, but how far apart we were could've affected what color it looked like. I don't even need to finish describing him. He was good-looking and I was now slightly jealous over the fact that he knew Mira before I did. There was just this small twinge of insecurity in me that thought he might be physically attractive enough for Mira to want him over me.

"Colby, this is Christopher. He'll be staying with us while Mira's pregnant. Chris, that's Colby, Mira's boyfriend," Ava introduced the two of us and we greeted each other. I just hoped it wasn't noticeable that I was a little jealous of him.

We shook hands before Christopher spoke, "So, Ava was telling me something was up with Ava. What exactly happened?"

I opened my mouth but Ava started talking before I had a chance to speak, "Kaden kidnapped Lucas. He left a note and after Mira read it she passed out. She's been out for almost 4 hours, I don't know how normal that is."

"No, she should have woken up by now. Most people wake up after a minute, but you said she's been out for almost 4 hours? It's possible that hearing the news of what happened to Lucas caused stimulation of the vagus nerve. That would've caused her to pass out. I'm not entirely sure what would be keeping her from waking up. I'll do a quick examination, make sure nothing's seriously wrong."

He did the examination, nothing too fancy. Turns out Mira was just extremely tired after the "stimulation of the vagus nerve". There wasn't anything wrong with her, she just needed sleep.

"Mira's fine, she'll be awake soon enough."

Kaden's POV

I sat on the chair across the room from where my son laid. He's been sleeping for a while, I guess exhausted from the flight we went on last night. He seemed to take after Luna more than me, but it didn't bother me. Even if I never have her back, I'll always have a part of her with me with Lucas here.

She doesn't understand how much she means to me. Or how much I wish we could have our family together, like a proper family.

Like you were able to protect me, right?

Her words echoed in my head. She knows damn well that I regret every time I let her slip from my fingers. It would tear me apart inside every time she'd disappear, it never got easier.

"Hmm... Where am I?"

Where am I?

FLASHBACK

She stood in the doorway, grabbing mine and Jayce's attention after she found her way to the living room.

"Where am I?" She repeated her question.

"I can't tell you, Amor."

"What do you mean you can't tell me, who the hell are you?"

She crossed her arms over her chest attempting to cover her partially exposed chest. She looked cute, innocent. I knew I was falling for her. Hard. She's only been here for a day and she's taken a place in my heart.

"I'm Kaden and that's Jayce. Luna, you're in Canada, and that's all you need to know."

"How do you know my name?"

I rolled my eyes, "You ask too many questions."

END OF FLASHBACK

I fondly recalled our first real conversation. Luna was so innocent, so much different from what she is now. I miss her. I miss her so God damned much.

A/N

Welp, that solves the mystery of where Lucas went. Kind of. Also, I'm not a doctor, I have no idea if any of the information on Mira passing out is accurate. I did a small amount of research but not too much, so don't take my word for anything said in this chapter about anything medical.
