Malory POV:
The lesson has finally ended.
"Maloriss, It's the fifth time this month that your name is being called out in the middle of the lesson!" Joe said, a little angry and dissapointed.
I turned to look at her as she walked towards me with Liz and Mona.
"Are you telling me that you've been counting that?" I asked in a little disbelief.
"Why yes! She actually does!" Liz jumped in and Joe panicked a little but I just kept going.
"Just relax Joe! And how many times have I told you to call me Malory?" I asked.
"And how many times have I told you to call me Joelene? You have a normal name, use it! We're ladies and ladies are not suppose to have 'nicknames'." Joe said.
"Unless of course, You're a street lady." Mona said, mocking.
"Thanks Mona..." I said sarcasticly to my frenemy.
"It is true though, You always talk about how you don't like being here." She said, shrugging
"Look! I'm just not intrested in what the High Class is teaching me because they aren't teaching me something importent, All the things that the teacher talked about in this lesson are stuff that I can find and read about in the library. They're not teaching me something that I'll use later for the REAL life! I'm 17 and almost 18, I'm suppose to leave the High Class soon and then what?" I asked, annoyed.
"My, My, What a stubborn girl." Mona said, faking to be shocked.
"Hang on! Where did you get that?" Joe suddenly said and tried to reach my hand but I pulled it away.
"Get what?" I asked innocently.
Joe tisked and grabbed what was in my hand.
The newspaper.
She took one look at the page it was open on and sighed.
"Now I understand everything, How did you even get it?" Joe asked, raising an eyebrow.
"A good reporter never tells his source of information." I said proudly.
"Don't you see it Maloriss? This is where you get those crazy ideas, You should stop reading those crazy stuff this 'TinTin' is writing! He might be making this up!" Joe said.
"Nonsense! He's not lying! And I like his adventures." I protested.
"Or maybeeee... You like the writer." Liz teased me.
I gave her a not amused look.
"Seriously Maloriss, Don't hide it! It's understandable that you'd like him, after all... He is a very handsome fellow..." She said in a dreamy look.
I rolled my eyes a bit.
She's not wrong though, TinTin is indeed a very handsome boy but I'm just intrested in his adventures, That's all.
"I just wish I could be where he got to be..." I said, feeling a little jealous.
"Trust me Maloriss, Once you'll finish the High Class, You'll be with your husband and kids and you'll get to do whatever you want." Joe said.
"Maybe, But you forget Joelene, Maloriss wants to run around and jump like TinTin, We ladies are suppose to sit still and watch our kids playing." Mona said, some kind of helping me.
"And where is the fun in that?" I asked quietly.
Joe sighed.
"Well... Elizabeth, Ramona and I are heading to the library, Would you like to join us?" She asked.
I took the newspaper and started to walk away.
"No thank you, I'm going to my room." And with that I left.
Timeskip:
I sat on my bed and laid my hands on the window next to it.
I hummed in thoughts as I looked at a pretty brown-reddish bird building a nest with its' partner.
Even the chicks will have more freedom than I have...
I sighed as I reached a hand to the album on my bed, where I got all of TinTin's articles.
Why does he get to do whatever he wants? Why can't I be like him?
Sure, He might be stronger, wiser and braver than I am but it doesn't mean I don't deserve freedom as well...
My 18th birthday is in two more days, I might as well deserve a little bit of freedom....
I noticed a big, strong branch a little above me...
A little trip in the streets wouldn't hurt now, would it?
I climbed on the window and reached out my hand for the branch, with a little effort I got it.
I rocked myself out and caught the tree's trunk as I started to slowly get down.
I passed the birds' unfinished nest and they chirrped a little in fright that I might hurt them.
I shushed them and they stopped.
I smiled and got down.
Phew...
And with that I walked towards the back exit and left for a little, maybe last, adventure...
(Heya guys! How was that? I hope you like it, Please leave a comment and tell me what do you think, Love ya!)
