Malory POV:
I slowly lay down in bed, now wearing my nightgown and openned up the book, searching for The Unicorn.
TinTin POV:
It has been a while and I'm still looking for the right book, searching for The Unicorn.
No One POV:
"Here it is." Malory and TinTin said, both faces lits up in excitment.
"'Sir Francis Haddock of Marlinspike Hall, the last captain of the ill-fated Unicorn.'" Malory read quietly, using the moonlight so she won't get Madam's Jackline's attention by accident.
"'The ship set sail from Barbados in 1676 on one of the most ruinous voyages in maritime history.'" TinTin read to Snowy to the light of the lamp.
"'Ship never reached destination...'"
"Attacked by pirates, all hands lost except for one survivor.'" TinTin kept reading, not noticing someone is getting closer and closer to him.
"'When Sir Francis was rescued and returned home, he was convinced his name had been cursed.'" Malory sat up.
Cursed? Is this real?
"'The Unicorn's manifest stated that it was carrying a cargo of rum and tobacco bound for Europe, but it was long claimed the ship was carrying a secret cargo.'" TinTin stopped reading for a second and turned to look at Snowy.
"What was the ship carrying, Snowy?" Snowy barked quietly as if to say: 'I don't know.'
"It must be a treasure of some kind... Why else would the pirates want to attack the ship? I mean! Aside from the fact they're pirates..." Malory shook from her thoughts about the curse and the secret cargo and flipped to the next page.
"'Historians have tried and failed to discover what happened on that fatal voyage...'"
"'but Sir Francis' last words...' TinTin read.
"'Only a true Haddock will discover the secret of the Unicorn.'" TinTin and Malory read together mysteriously.
TinTin finished reading and started looking for more information about The Unicorn but suddenly froze.
Someone was watching him.
He can feel it.
TinTin turned to look but the man was able to back off before TinTin turned.
TinTin got curious, He knows he was being watched.
He was about to get up and go investigate when suddenly a strong light and sound made him jump.
A lightning bolt.
'It's going to be raining soon, I should better get back.' He thought and got out.
Timeskip, TinTin POV:
"I've missed something, Snowy." I said as I openned the door of my building.
"We need to take a closer look at that model." I said as I climed upstairs.
I opened the door to my apartment and immediately noticed something, something very different.
The Unicorn was gone.
"Of course it's gone! How could I be so stupid?" I scolded myself, knowing immediately what to do.
Meanwhile, Malory POV:
I was pacing back and forth across my room, humming in deep thoughts and twisting the end of a piece of my hair in two fingers, putting it close to my mouth and somewhat sniffing it and chewing on it.
"TinTin and I must have missed something in the ship model.... But what?" I asked myself, trying to remember the model.
I tried to flip to the next page, hoping to see more information about The Unicorn but it just went to the next ship.
I didn't see anything peculiar, It's just a normal ship model!
I mean, According to the Red man, Sir Francis was probably a little bit mad after being alone in the middle of the sea for so long, and so was the rest of the family...
The ship probably sank by accident and he imagined pirates did it and that he's cursed!
But if it's true then why would he and the American guy will want the ship so badly? and say that danger awaits whoever owns it?
What am I missing?
I hummed again and jumped when another lightning bolt stroke.
I heard the birds in the tree next to me chirping and sounding terrified.
The bolts must frighten them.
I hurried to climb on my bed and openned up the window.
The birds were flying around their nest and indeed looked terrified.
"Come here guys! Over here!" I whispered-yelled to them softly, hoping they understand.
And they did! They hurried to fly in and landed on the chest of drawers next to my bed.
I should probably get their nest as well.
I hurried to change into my uniform, not wanting to get my nightgown wet, and reached for the nest.
I gently grabbed and almost instantly felt like there were some kind of rocks in there.
I grabbed it with both hands and gasped in happiness and delight.
Those weren't rocks, but EGGS!
The birds were probably scared that the rain will hurt their eggs, It is their first time being parents.
I gently put the nest next to them and they hurried to check if it's alright.
I smiled and turned to close the window when I noticed something, or rather someone walking down the street really fast.
"TinTin?" I raised an eyebrow in confusion.
What is he doing so late at night outside? And in the weather never the less!
Did something happen with The Unicorn.
I leaned a little forward but immediately stopped and hesitated.
What if I'll get caught?
I bit my lip and turned to look at the door to my room.
Nonesense! Everyone is asleep, I'll be back before morning.
But what reason do I have to go out so late at night? TinTin can take care of himself, It's not the first time he's on a story!
But... maybe he doesn't know about The Unicorn's past...
I should get him and let him know since Madam Jackline will never let me go anywhere I should do it now.
Yes! That's what I'll do.
I climbed on the window and grabbed the branch above me, easier than the previous time.
I rocked myself and got a hold on the tree's trunk as I started to slowly but faster than before to get down.
The birds chirped in a little fright as if asking: 'Where are you going?'
I shushed them and they stopped, making me smile and returning to get down.
I reached the ground and hurried to catch up with TinTin, hoping he didn't get too far.
(Heya guys! How was that? I hope you like it, Please leave a comment and tell me what do you think, Love ya!)
