Malory POV:
"We have to reach a locked door at the end of this corridor. This is gonna be tricky." Captain told us as he opened the door.
"You wouldn't happen to be related to the Haddocks of Marlinspike Hall, would you?" TinTin asked what I've been wondering ever since we found out Captain's name as we stood close to the wall while Captain peeked into another corridor to see if it's safe to pass.
"Why do you ask?" Captain asked as he turned to look at us while voices were being heard from the other corridor.
"It's for a story I've been working on." TinTin explained as Captain hurried to to pass while the people from the opposite corridor weren't looking, "An old shipwreck that happened off the coast of Barbados. A man o'war. Triple masted. Fifty guns."
Once all the men passed Captain signed us to cross as well and as we did he suddenly shoved TinTin into the wall, I stopped in shock as TinTin gasped in surprise.
"What do you know of the Unicorn?" Captain asked.
He recognized it by the description! He must know something! Maybe that's why Sakharine took him hostage!
"Not a lot. That's why we're asking you." I hurried to interfere as I tried to gently take Captain's hand off TinTin.
"The secret of that ship is known only to my family! It's been passed down from generation to generation. My granddaddy himself, with his dying breath, told me the tale." Captain looked up as if he remembers that day clearly.
"And?" TinTin asked eagerly.
"Gone." He replied, making me raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"What do you mean, gone?" I asked in confusion.
"I was so upset when he kicked the bucket, I had no choice but to drown my sorrows. When I woke up in the morning, it was gone!" He said as he let go of TinTin and reached for the door we were going for, "Forgott it all."
"Everything?" TinTin and I asked in shock but still in hope that maybe there was something.
"Every last word." He told us as he entered the next room which held a staircase upwards.
An idea popped in my head and I hurried to catch up with Captain with TinTin behind me.
"Well, is there somebody else in your family? Maybe they would know." I asked, making the Captain stop to look at me while shaking his head.
"Sir Francis had three sons. All but my bloodline failed. I am the last of the Haddocks!" He replied and I looked down in defeat.
But TinTin was completely the opposite.
"Did you say three sons?" He asked and I looked at him as if to say 'Why does it matter?'
Suddenly we've heard the door above us beind opened.
"Let's check below!" Someone said, making the four of us hide under the staircase just in time to see two legs coming downstairs.
"There is a bottle of rum for the man who finds Haddock." Another one said eagerly as they walked through the door we came from.
"And kill the boy. Hope I find him first." A third one said.
"Actually scratch that, I hope I find the girl~ Mmmmm~" My stomach clenched in both disgust and fear as I switched looks with TinTin as we asked the same question.
How do they know I'm on the ship? Well, not me! But who do they know I'm a girl?
Snowy growled and let out a bark before TinTin quickly covered his snout but it was too late.
