22. don't go back

the sounds of screaming and clattering woke changbin up.

he was too caught up in his own world that he didn't realise what was happening around him.

well of course he wouldn't know, he couldn't see anything.

it was all covered in complete darkness.

and he wasn't the only one, everyone was the same.

someone must have cut off the lights as planned.

the only reason they were here was to get the boy who was currently on him.

his job as a bodyguard had just begun.

he didn't know why they wanted him and he was so confused as to why this was happening but his first priority was to get the younger to safety.

"h-hyung, what's happening??" hyunjin's tone was shaking.

changbin didn't say anything and tightened his grip.

one thing that he was questioning about: how would they know which one is hyunjin when everything is dark?

"guys, don't panic and remain calm. the exit is behind you, my guards will open the door so every one of you can leave there." woojin informed.

they could then see the moonlight as the door opened.

he shook his head and tried to think of a way to get him out of here unnoticed.

"don't worry hyunjin, just follow me." he explained and reached for his wrist.

people in the mean time were rushing out in horror.

changbin made way through the crowd with hyunjin following behind.

just as they were about to leave the mansion, they heard someone cocking their gun.

which means bad news.

at the same time, the lights came back.

the black haired boy took this chance and quickly whipped his head to see what was going on to see three men standing on the second floor above the staircase.

and woojin who was now on the first floor.

all of the lights on second floor were turned off so no one could see their faces.

an advantage for them but a disadvantage for the boys.

but all they knew was that one of them was holding a gun.

the man with the gun raised his arm, aiming at changbin and hyunjin.

he was about to shoot when woojin surprisingly cut him off with his gun.

the older eyed the two boys. "what are you still doing here? leave! it's dangerous!" he yelled to the other side.

changbin didn't want to leave the older alone but he had no choice.

guilt was building up inside him. "i-i'm sorry!" he shakily shouted before running out of the mansion with hyunjin moving behind him.

as soon as they left, the guards slammed the door and walked towards woojin.

it was now woojin with his two guards and the three men.

luckily for them, the cab was still waiting. changbin and hyunjin immediately got inside.

when they got inside, the cab driver turned his head around to look at his master. his face filled with confusion.

"what happened hyunjin ssi? why is everyone running out?? the poor, clueless man asked.
