12. turning the tables around

by the time hyunjin stepped out of the house, the whole room was silent again.

the older didn't know what to do next now that the loud younger had left.

he began by walking over to the couch and flopping his own self between the soft cushions.

living alone was already tiring and he wanted to live this place up.

however, it seemed that doing it himself wouldn't work.

as time was ticking, his level of boredom grew and he was desperate to find something he could do.

just then he thought of visiting his sick mum.

thinking even deeper, he realised that he hadn't visited his mum in months.

and he was starting to feel guilty.

without him thinking twice, he immediately got changed and left the house without saying any words.

he had to take the cab because he didn't know how to drive yet.

by the time he got there, he gave the driver the money and rushed inside the building to greet the receptionist.

 "hello? how may i help you?" she looked up.

"oh urm... i'm here to see my mum." he knew that he didn't need to address who he was seeing with since everyone knew whose son he was.

however, he was wrong when the lady raised her eyebrows in confusion, "urm, sorry but who's that?" but was luckily saved when a familiar face joined in.

"hey there changbin! here to see your mum again?" he answered her question with a nod.

"she's currently doing a check up so you can just wait outside her room. you remember which room it's in right?" he nodded again.

"great, sorry about that by the way, she's new." the boy understood with an 'ahh' and bowed ninety degrees down.

"thank you." turning around the other way as he began to walk.

the now revealed newbie turned her head to the one who was talking to changbin just now and asked, "does he always do that?" her face indicating that she was shocked at the sudden bow.

she responded with a hum and smiled, "he's always been like that since he's one polite boy." 

changbin arrived at the floor and sat down on the chairs just outside her room.

not only was he a very polite boy but he was also patient.

he was pretty sure he sat there for a couple of minutes because it didn't take him long enough to hear the sound of a bed being rolled forwards.

when he looked to his right, he saw 4 doctors and a bed which revealed to be his ill mum.

as they get closer to the room, one of the doctors noticed changbin who was sitting outside and came over to him.

"she's asleep right now and i appreciate the time you took to get here but that doesn't mean you can't go in and sit next to her." he stood up after hearing the doctor's words and bowed ninety degrees.

the man reacted by putting both of his hands on changbin's shoulder. "you don't have to bow like that." 

he took notice of that and bowed forty five degrees instead.

"i guess you can't help it." he chuckled.

changbin laughed briefly and stood back up to see that her bed was back in the ward.

the 3 other doctors came out and motioned the doctor who was talking to changbin that their job was done.

he turned back to the boy and smiled. "i'll see you around then." and then walked around with the other doctors.

changbin took this moment and entered the room.

when he got inside, the first thing he heard were the beeps; they were beeping stably.

it was still bright outside and he just wanted to be with his mum right now and tell her everything that he had been going through.

he sat on the stool next to her and held her hands in his own.

"eomma, i've been doing well. there's a test coming in a few week and me and minho are studying really hard. he's not here with me at the moment but the next time i visit you again, i promise to bring him over. by the way, i did an interview to get a job recently but i don't know when i would get the answer. oh yeah and i met this boy who i saved from committing suicide and he seems like a good person but there's one thing about him that i can't quite get the answer to. his laughs. i don't know why but when i hear them, there's a weird feeling in my stomach. do i like him? or was it just some kind of misunderstanding? it's not like i'm interested in him or something, yeah, it must have been that." 

he was about to say more when he heard his phone vibrating.

wanting to check what the vibrate was, he let go of his mum's hands and reached for it.

he gasped suddenly when he saw that he had received a new email.

his fingers were pressed against the screen as he quickly unlocked the pin and went on his email to see what it was.

'omg yes! did i get it or not-'

before he could finish his thoughts, his eyes widened in shock.

a/n: hehehe, curious huh? ;) btw... HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D (i changed the plot a bit. this wasn't suppose to be what i wanted to publish in the first place but i decided to change it because i thought that they were boring and long to read so i changed it to something better :3 i hope this works for me and that it still kept your interest high ;))
