"oh shit, I forgot to buy groceries." changbin muttered as he looked around the inside of the fridge.

it was a sunday night, the night before school and changbin realised he had not yet went out to buy the ingredients needed for his meal.

luckily for him, the convenience store was open until 12 and it was only 8. 'time to go out.' he thought while entering his bedroom to get changed.

normally it wouldn't take a long time to get changed and put on some shoes to go out, but for changbin, it took him approximately 10 minutes before he walked out and locked the door.

the cold breeze immediately hit his face the second he walked out, each time he exhale the air, he could see the water-vapour of his own breath.

at this time of season, seoul was near winter, outside was so cold that people would now wear coats and scarves, gloves even.

changbin wore an enormous leather black coat, so thick he found it hard to walk in. he didn't wear any gloves because he would just shove his hands in his coat pockets.

the local convenience store was only a 5 minute walk from his house so changbin didn't have to worry about anything. there were still people walking in the neighbourhoods but he didn't care - it was none of his business.

as he walked to the convenience store, changbin stuffed his whole face inside his fluffy thick white scarf. he looked up to see the starry sky, a half moon glowing above him.

ever since he was a child, he had always loved to watch the stars at night. on his 8th birthday, his dad
bought him a telescope that he would always use to observe the view sheltering him.

counting stars were one of his favourite hobbies, it gave him enjoyment and memories he would always think back to each time he look up.

to him, the telescope was everything; he treasured and treated it with care as it was the last thing he had from his dad. because of the amount of work and stress from his school nowadays, he had not used it in years.

no matter how many times his mum tried to throw the telescope away, changbin still didn't give up. it had meant so much to him with all the memories of his dad that it was the last thing he would abandon.

a short while after changbin's dad's death, he had noticed a few changes happening in his daily life. changbin's mum had gotten much weaker that she ended up in a hospital.

from then, the family had been in a crisis. changbin, who is currently struggling with the taxes, had never felt such a huge responsibility he has, taking care of both himself and his mum.

he remembered everyday after school, coming home to see his mum laying on the couch ill. it pain him so much to see his mum struggling to eat that she grew much weaker, too weak to go to work.

and that was how changbin is in need for a job to take care of everything. it seemed too much work for a 19 year old but changbin believed that he could get through it and see his mum be healthy and happy again.

he didn't want to see the sorrow look on his mum's face again. he was far too traumatised especially after having to move on his dad's death. someone he looked up to and cherished.

by the time he got to the convenience store, he was welcomed by the immense bright light glowing inside. anyone could see it far away as the brightness dominated the darkness.

without any thoughts, he stepped inside. as soon as he entered the store, he was met by a small amount of people left to buy their goods and the tv above him playing the news.
