Cheryl's POV

I was sat by Toni. There was still no change. It had been two weeks since her accident now. Her bruises were almost all gone, but she was still unconscious. Her grandfather and I, as well as some of the serpents had been visiting her non-stop. We had been taking it in turns. I hadn't been to school since it happened. I wouldn't be able to focus. All I would be able to think about would be her. Nana Rose was didn't mind me not going in. I think she understood how I felt. Feeling hopeless and useless when a loved one is in the hospital is one of the worst feelings.

I had done as I told myself. I had sung our song to Toni every day. It wasn't getting any easier. I always had thoughts, worries even, about the motorcycle at the back of my mind. I didn't want Toni to get hurt, but she then showed me how good of a driver she was and my worries almost faded. I would never have seen us in this position. But I had to keep telling myself she would wake up. I refused to lose her.

I looked at Toni. I rested my head on her chest. I could feel her heart pounding. My hand was on top of hers, as I always would do. All of a sudden, I felt something on my hand. It was like a shake. I lifted my head quickly. I felt it again. I moved my hand to notice Toni's twitching. I had hope. Out of nowhere. I had hope.

I stared at her face, putting my hand on her cheek. I noticed her eyes open, slowly. I felt relieved. I couldn't believe it. She was coming back to me!

"Toni?" I said. I didn't know if she would be able to respond.

"Ch-Cheryl?" Toni struggled, but she managed to say my name.

"Hey there stranger." I joked, tears of happiness forming in my eyes.

"Where am I? What happened to me Cheryl?" She asked. She was filled with fear, panic and worry.

"You're in the hospital. You were in a motorcycle accident, but you're okay now." I could feel a tear rolling down my cheek.

"Don't cry now, Bombshell." Toni said, clearly she was still weak. She managed to lift her hand to mine. I gripped it tighter than ever before. I was scared to ever let go of her again.

"Last thing I remember was-w-was" Toni couldn't finish her sentence. Her body started moving strangely. She was shaking. She fell back on the bed. Her eyes went blank, as if there was no life in them. My level of panic was raising.

"Toni?" I waited.

"Toni?!?" I screamed. She didn't respond. Something was wrong.

"Help! Somebody help!" I yelled. Four doctors came flooding through the door. I didn't know what was going on.

"Okay. We've got a patient going in to cardiac arrest." I heard a doctor say to another. It was then that I understood the situation.

"Ma'am I'm gonna need you to step away." A doctor said. I moved away slightly. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The machine was beeping. I looked around at the doctors. I wanted to ask what was wrong or what was happening, but I was too shocked. I couldn't get the words out.

"She not breathing!"
