IMAGINE COMFORTING ROCKET AFTER HE WATCHES GROOT DISAPPEAR AND FINDS OUT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REST OF THE GUARDIANS.

"Rocket!" you called out at the top of your lungs as soon as you spotted your friend. He was there alone, sitting on the ground. You shouted his name while you ran towards him, he seemed to ignore you completely. "Where's Groot?" you panted, bolting around looking for the tree-creature.

Groot was not there. Oh, no.

"He did it," Rocket breathed in defeat as he stared at the ashes he was holding with his tiny hands. Wishing this was only a nightmare, he squeezed his eyes and let a tear stream down his face. "By the way, where's Quill? Where are the others?" His weary voice asked.

How would you tell him this? Hey Rocket, Thanos got what he wanted and all the team got dusted? No, that way too tactless from you. Not to mention that you had explain how Gamora died.

He flinched away from your touch, his heart rate rising. Although being wounded, you crouched next to Rocket, ignoring the dusty and bloody ground of Wakanda.

Unable to mask his grief anymore, Rocket sighed in defeat. "Groot was everything I ever had. He was always by my side, and now...he is gone," he said trying not sob.

It had been really hard for you to leave all team fighting Thanos on Titan so you could get to Earth, and find Groot and Rocket. Let's just say, your telepathic powers helped you this time too. You took the Milano, all your stamina and made your way to the rescue.

But you had never thought you would find yourself with this. Distress, agony, sorrow – mankind unable to believe what they had just witnessed. In a snap of fingers, half of the universe was gone forever.

"Hey, is there anything wrong?" Rocket asked, snapping you out of your thoughts.

You didn't meet his intense, questioning gaze. You just leaned back, prepared to gave him the speech of what had traspassed on Titan. "N-No," you sighed, shaking your head. "Rocket, there is something I've gotta tell you. But let's take you to the ship first."

Once you had told him everything you knew about the battle of Titan, and what happened to the rest of team, silence fell in the Milano.

"You know, I don't think they are dead," you blurted out simply. "Something inside me tells me they are going to come back. What about you?"

He grimaced, shaking his head. "I don't know. I just know I can only afford to lose a friend today."

"Is that so?" you said, placing two fingers on your temple and closing your eyes. Using your powers, you reassured Rocket and told him everything would be alright in the end. "Do you feel it, Rocket?" you asked, trying to meet his gaze. "They are going to return," you said, taking his hand in yours. "Because they are the Guardians of the Galaxy, did you hear me? And no one is going stop them from coming back."
