"Up!" I heard Klestania's sharp, high pitched voice as she rapped unnecessarily loudly on my door. "Get up! It's nearly time for you to go down to the training center!"

I groaned loudly into my pillow, my eyes felt heavy and my mouth was dry. I hated waking up to mornings like this.

Why was I still in my clothes, oh yeah! I forgot to change and fell asleep after wondering if.... Wait! Cato kissed me! I felt a sharp heat flood my cheeks. I may be sixteen years old, but that was my first kiss ever. I know, it's sad, but when a girl could stick a knife in your skull from 50 feet away, most guys don't want to risk it.

I stepped into the bathroom again, turning on the shower, ridding myself of the crumpled clothing and stepping into the warm water. I was only in the shower for a few minutes, only enough time to get myself clean. I stepped out, pressing my hand on the metal plate on the wall, a current of electricity running through my limbs and drying my skin and hair completely. My hair floated back down over my shoulders.

I wrapped myself in a robe, and stepped back into my room, to find on my bedside table, a small pile of clothing. The training outfit. I dressed, it was extremely comfortable and flexible, much more so than the outfits we wear in training at home. I stepped back into the bathroom, taking just a few minuted to brush my teeth and put my hair up in its usual fashion: two twists on either side of my head, pulling back into a long ponytail I wore over my left shoulder.

I finally stepped out into the hall.

"Hurry up Clove! Training starts soon!" Enobaria barked, kicking a chair out for me to sit in.

"Thanks." I said, sitting down, and grabbing a small bowl of fruit, and a piece of bread. It wasn't much, but my stomach was still in knots. Apparently, Cato had already finished and was elsewhere on the floor waiting for us. Therefore, I ate as quickly as possible, and soon Klestania herded Cato, and I onto the elevator.

Cato pressed the button to the training room, and down we went.

We were actually the first tributes in the training center. It was huge, much bigger than the one we have at home. My eyes flicked over to the wall covered in multiple different types of throwing knives, eagerly.

I pulled my eyes away from the shining silver knives to look at Cato, who's eyes were locked on an extremely deadly looking sword, it was long, with a blood red blade, with the tip of the riveted steel curved. It was an instrument that cut through meat like it was running through water, yet when used to stab a person, would lodge in the flesh, until the wielder chose to pull it out.

"Go on then." I whispered to him.

He glanced down at me, taking my hand, and giving it a gentle squeeze, before pulling away and walking briskly towards the sword.

I smiled, feeling completely giddy, as I turned and walked towards the knife throwing station.

I picked up a small, slender knife, it was covered in intricate carved designs, it was beautiful. I held onto the flat end of the blade, standing at the fifty foot mark away from the moving targets.

I pulled my arm back, and in a second, sent the knife flying, where it stuck right in the center of the bullseye. I sent multiple knives into the bullseye, one after the other, never missing my mark.

"Woah." I heard from behind me. I turned around quickly to see Cato standing just behind me.

"Maybe I will have to watch my back around you." He said with a smirk. There was the overconfident Cato I knew.

I took in a nervous breath, stood up on my toes and pecked his lips in a quick kiss.

He gave a goofy smile, and I laughed. "So, what are you doing over here?" I asked.

"Well, the other tributes are here, and I kind of destroyed the practice dummies." He laughed, I glanced over and saw that each of the practice dummies were in pieces. Plastic limb sliced cleanly off.

"Wow, okay then." I giggled. Wait, did I just giggle? Well, hopefully none of the other tributes heard that, that wasn't very intimidating at all.

"I have to go, I'm going to try my hand at spear throwing." Cato said, stroking my cheek and turning to walk away. I sighed as he walked away. He made me so happy...

After a while, I took my eyes off the targets in search of Cato. I soon found him, but just as I was about to walk over to him, I saw him, lip-locked with the blonde girl from District 1.
