mackenzie's pov:
after me and my dad arrived at his house, I went into my room that I had at his house and I unpacked all of my stuff and I placed a picture of me and maddie on my bedside table and I looked at it and started crying. How could this happen?? Hopefully I will just have a brand new start in California and go to a new school and make lots of new friends.
maddie's pov:
I miss kenzie so much that I walk into her room and I start to cry. I don't know what my mom was thinking because now I've just lost my only sister who has always been there for me and it just seems like a darker place without her being around. it's been a few days and I haven't talked to my mom since the argument. I feel guilty. my mom likes me more than she likes mackenzie. maybe I am the problem.
mackenzie's pov:
after I was done crying I went downstairs to get some chips and my dad told me that the school will text me my new schedule and everything about the school and town.
\the next day\
I woke up and it was my first day at my new school and I wasn't nervous at all. I put on my ripped jeans and my light gray cropped tank top. I walk downstairs to get some breakfast and I get my sneakers on and go get into the car. We arrive at the school and I grab my bookbag and I walk in and I see lauren and johnny orlando. they moved away from Pittsburgh a few years ago and I haven't seen them since then. they were my best friends. we did everything together.
I quickly grab my bag and get out of the car to run to lauren.
mackenzie: “lauren!”
she turned around and looked at me.
lauren: “kenzie omg!”
lauren and I both run to each other and hug each other tightly.
mackenzie: “I'm happy that I go to school and with you now”.
lauren: “we have alot to catch up on, let's go find our lockers”.
