Chapter 13 - Caught

We finished the first meeting for The LEMINGTON along with Caleb, Jace and Cameron. It's quite a success actually and we're already planning for our next step after this.

"Wanna have lunch together?" I asked.

"I have another meeting in 10 minutes so I'll pass." Jace said and I nodded.

"How about you Cameron?" I asked.

"Let's go.. how about you Caleb?" Cameron asked.

"I'll join, any ideas?" Caleb asked as he looked at me.

"Uhmm Ramen? Sushi? Or maybe.. Sandwich?" I asked.

"Let's go to the next brunch restaurant at the mall." Cameron suggested and I agreed. So our new building has a connecting bridge to the our new mall beside our building. Yes, it's our mall.

We walked there as we talked about our new project. Our secretary booked a place at the brunch restaurant and they made sure our guards are on duty. Now, Nicholas suggested that we double up the guards because there were a couple of threats towards us these days.

I mean even though we can defend ourselves but still we need extra protection from the guards that are professionally trained too. We walked there and there were a lot of people inside the mall already since it's Saturday afternoon.

Man.. I wish I have an ordinary life.

"We should go to the factory next week to check the progress, what do you guys think?" Caleb asked and I agreed.

"Sure but I will go to Italy on Wednesday until Friday so.. I'll pass if you want to go there that day." Cameron said.

"Noted that." I said and then we walked into the restaurant. There were a lot of people but they already reserved a place for us. Caleb asked the guards to wait outside instead so we still have privacy.

"Are you planning to go back to Canada, Cal?" Cameron asked and I looked at him waiting for his answer. He smiled at me and turned to Cameron.

"No.. I'm here for good." Caleb said and looked down to the menu.

"That's the spirit man!" Cameron patted Caleb's shoulder. Suddenly Cameron's phone rang and he excused himself to take the call.

"So.. you're ready to order?" Caleb asked me and I nodded.

"How about you?" I asked and he nodded too. He called the waitress for us to order.

"Fish and chips." Me and Caleb said it at the same time. Our eyes widen when we looked at each other.

"2 fish and chips, would you like anything to drink?" The waitress asked.

"Lemonade please." I said.

"Orange juice." Caleb said.

"Thankyou." She left and I turned to Caleb again. We both chuckled again.

"How does it feel to be back in New York again?" I asked him and he looked up to the ceiling.

"Well.. I feel great. It feels weird too. I miss New York's pizza, I'n craving for it." He said and I chuckled.

"So.. what did I miss?" Cameron asked as he sat down.

"We already ordered." Caleb stated and Cameron called the waiter to take his order. I looked around and started noticing a crowd formed in front of the restaurant. It's not a weird thing for us to have people gather just to see us but I think Caleb is the main target here.

He's back after 5 years and everyone has been talking about him non-stop. There's even a lot of shows that wanted to interview him but I don't know if he rejects it all or maybe accept one or two. When he came back, it feels like my world has lighten up again. The difference when he's gone and when he's back showed a really big gap. I felt happier even though we're just friends now but sometimes I felt weird just to think that we're only friends.

"You know.. I have a friend.. she's hot and she asked me if I can introduce you to her.. do yo-" I wanted to kick Cameron's jewel when he said that in front of me. I swear if you want to tell that to Caleb, at least do it behind my back so it won't ruin my appetite.

"Nah I'll pass." Caleb cut him and that made me quite happy.

"Well well well.. you guys are eating without me." Chase joined suddenly. Chase gave me a big smirk which made me curious.

"Hey buddy, we just finished the meeting." Cameron said and Chase nodded.

"How was it?" He asked as he looked at the three of us.

"It was okay." My eyes widen when me and Caleb said it at the same time. Chase chuckled.

"Great then.. I trust you all with LEMINGTON." He said as he patted Caleb's shoulder. Chase suddenly got up and I looked at him raising my eyebrows.

"Where are you going?" Cameron asked.

"Are you going to find that girl?" Caleb asked.

"What girl?" I asked Chase.

"Mind borrowing her for awhile?" Chase asked Caleb while pointing at me.

"Hey! Ask me not him!" I bursted as I smacked Chase.

"Well.. I have to ask permission first or else he will kill me at home so.." Chase said it and he turned to me smirking. I raised my eyebrows.

"She's not mine, Chase. You need to ask her not me." Caleb said and that gave my heart a big shock. I might get stroke if I hang out with Caleb often. I swear I might die even sooner.

I was so speechless when he said that and I turned to him wanting an explaination but my head reminded me that we're just friends.

"Well good then.. you need to help me, Serena." Chase said and I nodded. I got up from my seat and walked out from the restaurant with Chase.

"Sorry about earlier, sometimes Caleb needs that to help him realize that.. you're not just his." Chase said and I stopped walking.

"What is that even mean? We're friends, Chase. You're making our relationship more worse by acting like that earlier!" I hissed coldly.

"Serena, you and Caleb's relationship dictionary.. there's no 'Friends' vocabulary there." Chase said and I sighed.

"We agreed to that, Chase. We will never work in terms having a intimate relationship." I said and Chase chuckled.

"Well.. now I know that you want more than just a friendship." He smirked and wiggled his eyebrows to me.

"Funny Chase.."
