Chapter 16 - Restart

I looked at the puzzle that I've made and smiled. I can't believe that I almost finish it. I have 5 pieces left and I I took one of the 5 looking at it feeling empty in everyway.

I heard a knock on my door and I told whoever outside to come in. My mom came inside and she smiled at me.

"It's almost finish." She said and I nodded.

"Isn't it beautiful?" I asked.

"Yup it is.. so do you want to come to the event today?" She asked and I shook my head.

"Okay then.. have fun, darling. Oh and maybe.. Athena or Isaac will drop a package here in 30 minutes so can you accept it and put it on your dad's studies?" My mom asked.

"I will." I said and she kissed the top of my head. She left my room and I looked at the puzzle in front of me. It's a picture of a sunset and I smiled finishing the puzzle. I leaned back to my bed and looked up to the ceiling.

"I miss him.." I mumbled and I sighed. I played sad songs on my phone and I closed my eyes. Why are you acting like this, Serena? When the music stopped, I heard our gate closed and I immediately got up to go downstairs.

I walked downstairs and opened the door for Athena or Isaac but.. it's Caleb. He was holding a big box and I opened the door to let him in.

"Where is your dad's studies?" He asked and I pointed the second floor.

"Can you show me?" He asked and I nodded. I walked upstairs first and he followed me. My body tensed all the time knowing that Caleb's here. I lead him to my dad's studies and let him in. He put down the box inside and he walked out waiting for me to close the door.

"Where's everyone?" Caleb asked.

"My mom and dad had to go an event and Zion is in France." I said and he nodded.

"Have you eat?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I'm quite busy."

"Busy? Doing what? Work?" He asked.

"Wanna have lunch together? I can drop you back." He asked and I looked up to him. He smiled and I found myself nodding.

"Well.. you can change and I'll wait for you downstairs." He said as he's pointing downstairs and I nodded. I walked into my room and changed into a hoodie and a black shorts. I took my wallet and my phone right away because I'm not in a mood to wear makeup.

I walked out from the room and walked downstairs. Caleb stood up as he saw me walking down. He walked out and asked his driver to get inside.

"Well.. that's fast." He said as he opened the door for me.

"Not in the mood to.. dress up." I said smiling and he chuckled nodding. I got in and he closed the door for me. He walked to the other side and got inside.

"Where do you want to eat?"

"I want.. salmon steak at your restaurant." I said and he nodded. Caleb told the driver where to go and he closer the window between the driver and us.

"Are you okay? You don't look good.." He asked in a worried tone.

"I'm fine." I said and he suddenly put a bottle of juice in front of me. I took it and it's written strawberry and blueberry for Serena. I raised my eyebrows and turned to him.

"Uhmm.. I made it. I know you like that flavour so.." He said as he looked away. I smiled and opened the bottle. I drank all of it right away. It feels good to have juice since I haven't eat anything this morning.

"Thanks, Caleb." I said and he nodded. I took a really deep breath and I decided to just tell him the real situation.

"I had a high fever last night actually.. I'm having insomnia lately and it's making me crazy." I said truthfully.

"Sorry." He said and I felt like I accept his apologizes even though he's just saying sorry for my situation not our situation.

"So.. how are you these days?" I asked.

"Well.. I'm okay I guess.. I mean.. not really.. I don't know." He said in a weird tone. I chuckled and turned to him.

"You know.. I think we both.. need to go somewhere." I suggested and he immediately turned his head to me.

"Where?"

"Bronx Zoo. What do you think?" I smiled and he agreed right away.

"Good.. After lunch, we can go there." I said and I squealed in excitement. I guess I just miss having fun and I'm not in a mood to fight or act cold to Caleb. He said sorry and it's been 2 weeks since I've seen him so.. I guess hanging out together won't hurt right?

We arrived at the restaurant and we walked inside. The waiter greeted us and lead us to our seats. We sat down facing each other and I just ordered my favourite salmon steak with mashed potato and Caleb ordered a kobe beef steak.

"You know.. I miss this place. This is my first time after-" He froze when he realized that he's trying to talk about the past.

"After you came back." I continued and gave him a small smile.

"Look.. Serena, I didn't mean like that." He said and I stopped him by putting my hand in front of him gesturing him to not apologize.

"Caleb, it's okay." I said and he sighed.

"Look Serena.. I think I'll just.. gonna tell you honestly that.. I want to restart our relationship." He said and my eyes widen. My jaw dropped and my blood rushing through whole my body so fast.

"What?"

"Let's open a new page and restart again." He said again but this time more loud and clear. That made me speechless, I just.. can't think of anything that second.
