Jasico (AU)
Nico’s P.O.V
I had a minimum of three huge winter jackets on, and yet Jason still kept finding more things to make me wear. It was barely even snowing, but I guess Jason was worried about me again. All weekend, whenever I suggested that we go outside, he would find an excuse why we shouldn’t. I understand that I’m a bit underweight, so I get cold a lot faster than the normal human being, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to die from the cold weather!
“Nico, I found another pair of fuzzy socks!” Jason called from the bedroom in our small apartment. I knew that no matter what I said, he would find a way to put those fuzzy socks on me, so I didn’t even bother to reply. Instead, I simply stood by the door, waiting for the time when Jason deemed I could face the chill. I just hoped he would hurry, my shift started in twenty minutes, and it was a fifteen minute drive. I shuffled my feet, scuffing up the brand new boots Jason had bought me for Christmas. They were bright blue with little lightning bolts on them, one of our many inside jokes. I called him my Superman, because whenever I was in trouble, he would always come as fast as lightning and save the day. He called me his Ghost king. I guess I was just better talking with the dead than the living. Every other Saturday, I would visit the cemetery to see my mother and sister. They had both died in a car accident when I was younger. Ever since, my father had kept his distance from me. Eventually, I ran away from home, and tried to start fresh in New York. After a few weeks of sleeping on park benches, I literally ran into Jason, who invited me to spend the night at his place. That was two years ago. I guess you could say that I’ve been sleeping over ever since.
“Nico, did you put on the gloves I gave you?” Jason called. I looked down to my mitten covered hands and chuckled.
“Yes. Are you almost done improving my outfit?” I called back. Suddenly, Jason appeared at the top of the stairs, with a huge grin on his face. He practically bounced down the stairs, and engulfed me in a hug.
“I’m just trying to make sure that you’re warm enough.” He said sheepishly, as he pulled away.
“And I appreciate that, but I really have to get to work.” I smiled.
“I know… But first, put these fuzzy socks on?” He smiled goofily.
“I guess so.” I smiled as I slipped off my boots. At the sight of my already sock covered feet, Jason chuckled.
“I guess I did go a bit overboard with the socks…”
“You don’t say?” I teased him, as I slipped the fuzzy socks on anyway. If Jason could put up with me, I could put up with another pair of fuzzy socks.
