Solangelo "Beach day"

Nico's P.O.V

I groaned as Will tugged me along behind him. "Do we have to go to the beach?"

"Yes, it's a sunny day, and I want to swim." Will replied as he adjusted the towels over his shoulder.

"Why can't you just go alone? You know how much I hate the beach."

Will smirked. "I also want to see you in a swimsuit."

"Will!" I spluttered, my cheeks getting hot.

"What? I finally have an opportunity to see you in shorts!"

I grumbled a few choice words before replying. "I hate shorts! Shorts and I don't get along."

"I'll have to be the judge of that." Will smirked as he stepped onto the warm sand. Will's hand slipped from mine as he took off his flip flops and picked them up. I copied him, trying to waste as much time as I could.

"Just because you go slow doesn't mean we'll leave earlier." Will pointed out as I finally picked up my shoes. The warm sand felt like hot coals on my feet, reminding me of Tartarus. I shook my head to clear those thoughts. I couldn't think of the past if I wanted to live in the future.

"You coming?" Will called from ahead.

I started towards him. "Yeah, I'll be right there."

"Good, because I've already picked the perfect spot to sit." Will replied, and as I got closer I realized he was right. He had set down the towels on a part of the beach that was partially covered by the trees. Naturally, being the overprotective boyfriend that he was, Will had placed my towel in the shade so I wouldn't burn.

"I like it." I stated as Will opened his backpack.

"Good. Sit down so I can put your sunscreen on." Will instructed as he patted the spot of his towel that was in the shade. I obeyed, and before long I was heavily coated in the white substance.

"How long do I have to stay in the shade for?" I asked, silently hoping he would reply a long period of time.

"Twenty minutes, then we get to swim!" Will replied with a twinkle in his eyes.

Twenty minutes flew by as we chatted about upcoming events and friends. Will was the type of guy who always made you feel comfortable, one of the many qualities I loved about him. He sipped on a juice box as he started going off about how much fun we would have and how great the day would be. I simply nodded my head when it was required and smiled when he smiled. Despite Will's excitement, I was already ready to go back to the cabin. I would much rather be in the sanctuary of my air conditioned room with a good book and a smoothie, but if it made Will happy, I guess I could put up with one day in the sun.

"Your twenty minutes it up! Time to swim!" Will said excitedly as he jumped up.

I slowly rose to my feet. "Alright, let's get this over with."

"Don't be so pessimistic." Will smirked as he started towards the water.

I followed behind him. "You can drag me out of my cabin, but you can't force me to be happy about it."

Will chuckled. "Just get over here." I slowly dipped one toe in the water before tip toeing until the water was up to my knees. All of the sudden, I was pushed over. I shut my eyes tight as I felt the water rush over my face. I began to panic, thrashing about until I felt a hand grip my arm. I felt myself getting pulled upwards until I hit the surface. I wiped the water out of my eyes and smoothed back my hair.

"You are aware that the water only comes up to my chest?" Will smirked.

I blinked, trying to clear my eyes. "Shut up. I don't like swimming."

"Evidently. Do you even know how to swim?" Will asked with raised eyebrows.

"Obviously. Everyone knows how to swim! You just kick your legs and stuff..." I trailed off, hoping he'd buy my lie.

"That's how you're supposed to swim? Apparently I've been doing it wrong all these years." Will joked.

"Well, you also have to move your arms a bit." I added.

"Is that so. Why don't you do a demonstration then?" Will called my bluff.

I rubbed my arm. "I don't want to intimidate you with my beautiful technique."

"I'm pretty sure you're lying." Will smirked.

"Fine. I've just never had an interest in it before, so I didn't see the point in learning how."

"Want me to teach you?" Will asked.

I shook my head. "No, I still have no interest in it."

"You're so strange!" Will chuckled.

"That's not what you said earlier." It was my turn to smirk.
