Jercy
Jason’s P.O.V
“I bet I can get to the top of the hill before you, even without using my powers!” I yelled at Percy.
“Yeah, right! I bet you’ll trip over you’re incredibly long legs on the way up!” He called back. Was that an insult or a compliment?
“At least I won’t get have to stop to sign autographs on the way up, Mr.Tall and handsome!” I screamed at him.
“Yeah? You’re on, you good looking son of Zeus!” He said as he took off towards Halfblood hill.
“No fair! You got a head start!” I called as I began sprinting after him. He was only a few seconds ahead of me, but with his stamina I knew he would be able to sprint the whole way there, without slowing. I rounded the corner and narrowly avoided running into Piper, my ex-girlfriend. After realizing that I didn’t swing that way, we broke it off. She took it well, saying that “love was love.”
“Jason, what’s taking you so long to catch up? I thought for sure you’d be ahead of me by now, with your toned leg muscles and all!” I heard Percy call over his shoulder. I immediately pushed myself harder, now only a few steps behind him.
“Your hair looks great when it’s flowing in the wind!” I yelled to him.
“You think so? I always thought that your hair looked better, so hurry up and catch up!” He replied. By now we were almost to the base of the hill. It was like an invisible finish line. I pushed my tired legs to go faster, I had to beat Percy. As I put on my finishing speed boost, I saw Percy glance over at me. Now we were side by side, and almost to the top. The next few seconds were a battle of Percy getting a bit ahead, and then I would inch myself a few steps ahead.
“Almost there!” I heard Percy call as we approached the summit. 3…2…1… Finish! I plopped down in the cool grass as soon as my foot crossed the invisible line. After regulating my breathing, I glanced over to Percy, only to be met with his piercing stare.
“So, who won?” I asked.
“How should I know? I thought you were going to be paying attention to that!” He chuckled. I started brushing the grass out of my hair, and dusting myself off. I looked back over to Percy to see that he had scooted himself closer to me. We were now sitting right next to each other. I smiled nervously.
“Did you really mean all those compliments?” He asked me.
“Did you?” I questioned. He ran his fingers through his hair, and for some reason I couldn’t tear my eyes away.
“Look, Jason…” Percy started.
“Yeah?”
“I’m… not into girls…” He muttered as he looked down. I felt a surge of hope go through my body. I immediately grabbed his face and lifted it, so he was looking at me.
“That’s great, because if you were I wouldn’t be able to do this.” I said, before closing the distance and placing a soft kiss to his lips. It couldn’t have been long before I felt him start to kiss back. I smiled into the kiss, as I felt him do the same. Reluctantly, I ran out of air and pulled away.
“ We should do this again sometime…” Percy suggested.
“Sounds good to me.” I smiled.
“How about tonight? I’ll swing by your cabin after dinner?” He asked, as he rose from the ground.
“I’ll be waiting.” I said as I got to my feet.
“Good.” Percy said as he walked back down the hill. Did Percy just ask me out for a date?
