Annabeth P.O.V
I swiftly pulled my hair into a high ponytail, tugging it to make sure it was tight. I wanted everything to be perfect today. After all, it my turn to take Percy on a date. Every time he organized it, we'd end up at the aquarium or beach. They weren't bad places to go, but after seeing the turtles exhibit seven times, I decided that I knew as much as I possibly could about them.
Today's destination wouldn't include water at all, which I'm sure Percy won't like, but he won't be able to argue because I've already planned everything out. A knock at my cabin door shook me out of my thoughts. I opened the door to be met with the dashing figure that I call Seaweed brain. He was wearing his jeans and his camp half-blood shirt, but on him it looked so good. He gave me one of his grins, which I quickly returned.
"Ready to go?" He asked me.
"Yeah, just let me grab my bag." I replied as I made a mad dash for my backpack. With it in hand, I met Percy and began walking towards the camp border. We began chatting about the most random things as we made our way to the taxi that sat waiting for us.
The ride was short, but hot, as the taxi's air conditioning didn't work. When we arrived, Percy all but jumped out of the car, as I gave him his payment. When I finally left that heat machine Percy gave me a quizzical look.
"We're going to the library?"
"Yup." I replied as I slipped my hand in his and began dragging him towards the entrance. The cold air hit us like a ton of bricks, and we made a silent agreement to stand there basking in the frigid air for a few seconds. When we actually entered the building my eyes began frantically searching for the figure I had asked to meet me here. There he was! I tugged Percy towards the Kid's section and once Percy recognized the person we were walking towards, he slowed down a bit and gave me one of his famous clueless looks.
"Clarisse?" He asked me quietly. I shook my head to answer him and picked up our pace again. We reached her in a matter of seconds.
"It's done." She said and then headed towards the exit. I waited until she was out of sight before continuing on towards the dimly lit corner that most people had forgotten was still there. It was usually dark and full of broken shelves, but today it was cleaned out, with a blanket covering the ground. A lamp was turned on in the middle of the blanket, with a box of pizza beside it. The silence was broken by Percy's comment.
"I thought food wasn't permitted in the library?"
"I made a deal with the head librarian." I replied.
"Oh. In that case, I love this! How did you get Clarisse to help you?"
"She owed me a favor." I shrugged. In reality, I told her that Percy would duel her later, but Percy doesn't need to know that yet.
We sat down on the blanket and began munching on the pizza, which I had requested to be dyed blue for Percy, which didn't go unnoticed.
"Blue? You must really love me." He smiled.
"Of course I do, you are my seaweed brain."
By the time the pizza was gone, Percy and I had discussed everything from the architecture of the coliseum to the turtles at the aquarium. Again. But it really was quite enjoyable to watch Percy's eyes light up at the mention of sea animals. As I went to clean up the pizza box and paper plates, I felt arms wrap themselves around me, and pulling me backwards. Next thing I knew I was sitting with my back against Percy's chest. He held me in silence for a few minutes, before slightly shifting his position.
"You know, I really enjoyed this. I didn't think it was possible to have a good time in a library, but once again you managed to prove me wrong." If it was possible to smile any wider, I would have been. I quickly turned around and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"It's honestly not that hard." I teased as I pulled him in for a real hug.
" I love you wise girl." I heard him mumble.
"I love you too, you hopeless romantic."
