Chapter Two

Emma Payton's POV

After texting the team I prepared a lunch for me and my twin Emily. I set the lunches in the fridge then went to my room. I payed out my uniform and crawled in bed and fell asleep.

My alarm rang at 6:00am for me to wake up and get ready for school and the biggest meet, other than state. I slid on my uniform which was spandex shorts and a red and blue tank top with our school logo in the middle of it. I put on the warm up sweats over it.

I put my hair long brown hair in a high tight ponytail. I didn't bother putting make up, but brushed my teeth and went to Emily's room. I banged on the door twice and she opened it. She was already ready for school and I smiled.

"You're never up this early." I commend as we walked downstairs and into the kitchen. I grabbed an apple and took a bite out of it.

"People change, Emma." She joked and I rolled my eyes. After finishing my apple I got a text.

"Get your stuff, Skyler is on her way." I said while heading back upstairs. I grabbed my duffel bag and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed mine and Emily's lunches and walked to the door. I set my bag down then went to the bathroom. I fixed my fly away hairs and then went to Emily.

Her hair was in a low ponytail. Her blues sparkled as we walked to the door. As if on cue we heard three honks coming from Skyler's yellow Jeep.

We climbed in, sat down and enjoyed the ride to school. The music was blaring as we sang along. The cover was off and I felt the wind in my face. God I love her car!!!

We got to class and I waited patiently for 9:35am to roll around. I could wait for the hill at Nome, Alaska. Yes I live in Alaska, but anyways the hill is really steal going down, but you can get great speed there.

We hauled all of the teams stuff to the charter bus. Sadly we had to share with the boys xc team, and they are all friends of everyone.

I took my place next to Amanda and watched as Skyler frantically looked for a spot, but the only spot open was next to Payton Morn. He was the best boys runner who could put run me any day. He was tall with brown curly hair. Skyler sighed and gave up as she sat next to him and couldn't help but laugh.
