Emma Payton's POV

I woke up sore and tired. Once my eyes finally focused on where I am. A hospital room? I don't remember anything. I looked at my limp body. A caste wrapped around my leg. No, no, no, I want to wake up from this nightmare!

Just then Skyler came into my room.

"What the hell happened?" I asked her. Relief flashed through her blue eyes.

"You have a major concussion, a few minor bruises and cuts, oh and a broken leg." She explained. I started to hyperventilate.

"A broken leg?" I asked her and she nodded. My eyes glossed over with tears. That means no running.

Skyler opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by the door swinging open and Brooks and Payton running in.

"How the hell?" Skyler asked. I was thinking the same thing.

"Brooks made us run here." Payton blurted and Brooks slapped his shoulder.

"I was worried." Brooks mumbled.

"I had to come." Payton smiled.

"How'd you get here?" I questioned.

"We ran." Brooks beamed.

"The track is five miles from here." Skyler explained. "And what about your run?"

"I got first, and Payton got second." Brooks snickered, making. Payton laughed.

"That's a lie. I got first." Payton chuckled, making Skyler and I laugh at Brooks' red face.

"Whatever." Brooks grumbled. "Anyways what happened?"

"I broke my leg." I scoffed.

"How though?" Payton asked.

"I think I fell." I stated. I don't really remember how this happened.
