Tyler Oak's POV

I ran my fingers thrown my brown/blonde hair before leaving. My green eyes glimmered in the bathroom light. I grabbed my duffel bag and headed to the kitchen. My dad was drinking a mug of coffee and my step mom was eating waffles.

"I'm leaving." I announced. They both waved goodbye and I waited for Jordan to pick me up. He drove up in his black ford and we drove to school. We talked about our upcoming meet today. I personally haven't been to Nome since I was three, but apparently there is a hill that practically falls straight down. Sounds scary but helps you gain speed for the last 1k of the race.

"Your first year man," Jordan laughed. "Excited?"

"Very." I said with a grin. I join XC this year for a girl that I like. Her name is Mari Taylors and she is a Sophomore, just a year difference. She is an amazing runner and I wanted to spend more time with her so I joined the team. Stupid, right? Anyways I fell in love with the sport and now we're are going to a huge meet.

We pulled into the parking lot of the school and found a spot. We walked to class and waited impatiently for time to leave this hell hole.
