Sabina's POV- January 2018
Lucy got into the car and smiled big at Adrian and I.
"Hi you two, long time no see"
Literally.
"You'd think it was cause I have a girlfriend now, but nope it's not. You just ignore my text messages"
She rolled her eyes at Adrian's comment.
"I've been busy"
With Pharmacy School.
"Are you back already?" I asked.
"Yeah, but it's technically my day off"
Nice.
"So where am I driving?" I wondered.
Once we connected her phone via Bluetooth, we were on our way.
"That's around the area where my dad works" I mentioned.
"Has Sonia started working there already?"
She went to college with Sonia and took a few science classes with her. They were also both played collegiate sports at OU. Lucy played softball, and Sonia competed in gymnastics.
"Yeah, she started this week" I replied.
"Nice, that she's finally going to get the respect she deserves"
Her old boss treated her like shit, and even went to fire her when she gave her two weeks notice at around Christmas time. My dad went to Grad School with like the top boss of the other firm, and well he gave him a call.
"It's nice to know the dick got fired" I disclosed.
She gasped.
"Really?"
I nodded.
"Yeah, when was it, Pooh?" I asked.
Adrian looked up from his phone as I glanced at him.
"I think last Friday"
Lucy hummed.
"Good"
Once we got there, we had to look for parking. It was expected since we were near downtown LA. As we took a seat, I reached for a menu.
"I'm starving" I noted.
"Everything tastes amazing"
I pursed my lips.
"I think I want ramen" I admitted.
"Delicious"
"What are you going to get?" I asked her.
"Pho"
I looked at Adrian who was looking down at his phone.
"What about you?" I questioned.
He glanced up.
"Sushi"
I nodded and looked at Lucy.
"Adrian's mentioned that your sweet tooth is worse than his"
I laughed cause it was true.
"And well I didn't see you two for the holidays, and I've been super busy with school so I haven't gone shopping for gifts"
She pulled out two rather large tins from her purse.
"So I baked you guys up something"
Adrian sat up.
"You're the best"
She smiled and handed him his tin.
"Thank you," I said to her as she handed me my tin.
"No worries, it's not much but its something"
"Your gift is in the car" I disclosed.
"Let me go get it, get my usual"
Lucy nodded as I handed Adrian my car keys. As he left, she looked at me.
"So I see he's back to his normal self"
"We got into this huge argument right before Christmas," I told her.
She shook her head and sighed as she pressed her hand against her cheek.
"How'd you get the green-eyed monster to vanish?"
"He realized Christian wasn't in love with me like he had assumed" I answered.
"I'm glad he realized it. But you made him work for it, right?"
"We talked it out" I replied.
"Should've let him sweat it out"
I laughed and glanced up as an elderly lady made her way over to take our order. After she took the order, she made her way back to the kitchen. Adrian made his way inside the restaurant a couple of minutes later.
"Here you go"
He took a seat across from me as Lucy gently unwrapped the gift.
"Just tear it up"
She smiled and chose to ignore Adrian's suggestion. Once she unwrapped the gift, she opened the box.
"Oh, wow there's a lot of stuff in here"
Only like 4 things.
"You got me a water bottle!"
"Adrian mentioned you lost yours," I said.
"Thank you!"
She set the pink aluminum bottle on the table.
"There's no such thing as too many beanies"
Beside the beanie and water bottle, Adrian and I got her a journal and a candle.
"I will use all of this, thank you"
Since I was the closest, she hugged me first. The food was delicious and I got to spend time with Lucy so I'd say it was a successful day...oh and Adrian too.
