Sabina's POV- Valentine's Day 2019
I closed the front door shut and turned on the living room lights. Salem hopped off his canopy and made his way over.
"Hi boy" I cooed.
I set my backpack on the couch and picked him up.
"Are you hungry?" I asked.
He meowed and nudged his head against my cheek. I kissed his forehead and as I turned around I noticed that Adrian had dropped by while I was gone. There was a beautiful bouquet of red roses on the countertop, and next to it was a small bear pooh bear, a bottle of wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a red box with a white bow that had an envelope against it.
Once I fed Salem, I reached for the envelope and opened it. In his loopy writing, it said,
Happy Valentines Day Bebs!
Mind waiting a bit? I want to see you open these gifts.
See you soon,
Pooh.
I glanced at the time on the microwave and set the card down. My phone vibrated on my right buttcheek. No one texted me this late, so it was probably a notification of the final score. Pulling the phone out of my pocket, I pressed my thumb on the home button and as it unlocked I sighed. Well, at least they got a point tonight since it went to Shoot Out. As I went upstairs, I loaded the app to see the game summary. Adrian did not have a good game, so I hurried up and showered.
By the time I got out of the shower, he had sent me a text telling me he was on his way. While I waited for him, I heated up some of last night's left over and then began to blow dry my hair. It was late, and I was not about to go to bed with damp hair. Just as I finished combing through my now dry hair, Salem bolted from his spot on the bathroom mat. I put away the blow dryer and made my way downstairs to find Adrian seated on the couch with his eyes closed.
"Hey" I greeted.
His eyes snapped open and he slowly turned his head to look at me.
"My day was shit, how was yours?"
He sat up a bit as I took a seat next to him. I gave him a quick peck before lightly scratching his jaw.
"Long" I admitted.
I had been on campus since 10 AM, which meant I had been up since 8 AM.
"But it went well?"
"Yeah" I answered.
"At least one of us had a good day"
I kissed his cheek.
"Do you have practice tomorrow?" I wondered.
"No, but I feel like I should still go and skate"
"I can join you if you want, and run some drills with you" I suggested.
He slowly nodded.
"Yeah, please"
"Then it's a date" I joked.
He chuckled.
"If you want to call it that"
He was tired, and so was I, but I needed to eat.
"Did you eat dinner?"
"No, I heated up last night's dinner though" I replied.
He smiled.
"Is there enough for two?"
"Yes," I confirmed.
I had actually warmed up more than enough for both of us.
