ALEXANDRA
~ ~ ~

"Alexandra... Alexandra!" came a soft voice full of concern.

She peeled open her eyes, feeling weaker than usual, as she sat up wondering where the hell she was.

She looked around the dimly lit room then noticed someone standing in front of her bed.

She wiped her forehead then realized that she had been dreaming.

Her mouth dropped as she recognized the angel. The angel who had saved her twice now.

They both locked eyes for the first time. She could hardly believe her luck.

She found herself once again mesmerized by those green eyes.

His beauty was indeed beyond any other she had ever met.

The more she looked at him the more she began to feel a burning desire to ask him so many question like,

how am I alive? Who are you? Are you really an angel? Why did you save me? Where the hell am I?

But instead she found her tongue tied. She couldn't get out a single word.

"Am I in heaven?" she asked, but couldn't help but chuckle at the sound of her own voice.

Then she remembered being pierced by glass. She quickly raised her shirt, exposing her flat stomach.

There was nothing, no glass, no scratch, no scar, no blood.

That was when she snapped.

"How the hell is this even possible? Who are you? Did you kidnap me? Where did my injury go?"

He stared at her blankly.

"I am your guardian." that was all he said, with certainty didn't help her uneasiness.

Now she was annoyed.

It all seemed like she was being played. This past few days had been like a game.

Alexy scowled.

"Really huh?"

"I'm not a 1 year old you know." She smirks in disgust, forcefully dusting out dirt clustering to her sleeves.

He stops her by grabbing her hands. "Hey! No need for that, I've got a dress you could put on after you rest."

He stands up heading for the window, clears his throat in readiness to explain to full understanding what he actually is to her.

As he stood holding the binds, his firmly built arms compressed through his chest, his green eyes literally reflected through the beam of moon peeping through the curtains.

"It's not going to be easy to understand." He sighed.

Alexy sat up straighter than before ready to listen to whatever he had to say.

"None of this would make sense... I am your guardian angel and you are my chosen."

Alexy at first thought he was joking but as she saw the seriousness in his face.

She was flustered.

"Guardian angel? I am your chosen? What do you even mean by chosen?"

"Yes. When angels reach a certain age they become... guardian angels. They are assigned a new born to protect and watch over.

It is the rule of the messiah. And that rule cannot be destroyed as long as you are in the kingdom."

he explained.

But everything he said only popped out more question, more than anything Alexy wanted to tell him he was running mad but from his seriousness and the intense look in his eyes as he explained somewhere in her deep down new it was all true.

"The messiah...? You mean God. The kingdom you mean heaven? Your new born they assigned that is... me?"

She was clearly puzzled. And from the way she sounded she almost did not believe.

"You actually know God...? Like you have met him? Why me?"

"No one really communicates with the messiah but when he does it's like a dream... a vision. You don't see his face but you sense his strong presence." He paused for a while as Alexy could see him tighten his grip on the binds.

"I chose you because you are different... you are special. It might sound stupid but I feel it. I could easily see my chosen's future but now I see nothing. Anytime I try all I see is your face. It's blurry sometimes."

But for Alexy she was both freaked out and at the same time pleased he thought she was special.

Then she felt her face turn into a million different shade of red but lucky for her he was not looking.

"The messiah has shown me war... war unlike never before. He had shown me the apocalypse." He added.

"My people are restless. They believe that the chosen one would come, they called the one: the child of the apocalypse. A half breed"

As much as Alexy would have liked to completely believe him a part of her wished that she was hallucinating.

The chosen one? The child of the apocalypse? The destruction of the world? A half breed?

She desperately hoped that she would just wake up in her apartment and that her encounter at Crest Falls had never happened.

She busted into a deep laughter.

What the fuck?

She could have given anything for a new life. So finally after the long silence she cleared her throat.

"What do you believe?" she asked in a low calm voice.

"I have leaved five thousand years. If they were actually a chosen one, he or she would have been found."

He finally turned around letting go of his grip on the iron binds.

His green eyes were immediately sucked into hers. Alexy felt a cold rush slid down her spine as she could not dare look away.

"I can sense that you don't trust me or even believe me."

He reached out a hand hoping that she would take it.

"Let me show you."

Alexy debated if she should take it. For the first time she felt scared not of him but of what she felt for him.

"I promise, I won't hurt you Alex. I never would, so I beg you, don't be afraid of me." He reassured her.

Alexy nodded like a school girl.

She finally took his hand then stood up. She felt her palms melt away into his just like they were meant for each other.

Then with one single leap they were both flying through the night sky.

She clutched tightly to his chest as he extended out his large white wings.
