ALEXANDRA
~ ~ ~
So far the dance had began and Ray was still nowhere to be found. Polly had introduced Mark to Alexandra and well Mark was a nice catch. He was surprisingly tall and elegant. His hair was as white as snow literally and his light green eyes suited him perfectly.
His attitude was equally surprising. His was way too calm for his own good. Well, I just had to give him that, what exactly had he seen. Angels pretty much didn't seem to know what it was like to suffer.
To suffer the way she did.
And then there was still that heavy feeling in her chest. How was it possible that she and Ray were this Connected?
What had she done to deserve something like that? Who was she?
Just an orphan that didn't deserve anything. An orphan that didn't know what it was like to be truly happy. Thinking about it now, Ray was the only one that knew fully well what she had been through, but strangely he never said anything, he never looked at her with pity in his eyes.
He just... H- he just never said anything.
Alexandra was amazed by the smell that filled the dinning room. She smiled, trying to clear her mind. She had nothing on her plate, yet everything looked and seemed so delicious.
Polly was at the far end of the dinning room, seated with Mark. And happily eating everything she saw, but once in a while passing Alexy a caring and concerned look.
That's the kind of attitude they all had, caring and compassionate. It almost shocked her that they were so different from humans.
A loud horn sounded. As if on cue, everyone got up and departed into the ball room. Alexy looked down on her empty plates. Oh, dammit. She wasn't really hungry after all.
The ball room was extremely large and the crowds were equally vast, but still there was enough space to maneuver.
The whole room was surrounded by beautiful mirrors, barely giving space on the marble walls. She could see her reflection from every corner possible.
The dress. Wow! It was as if she was staring at someone else in total. The material of the dress was unlike anything she had ever seen. It looked like something out of the Cinderella stories.
It looked like something that belong to a queen. Polly had done a very good job styling her hair, because it looked clearly outstanding.
She was the only one dressed in a pitch red outfit. Making her feel even more different. It sure didn't help the glances she received.
The slow mellow filled the environment, as people chose their dancing partners. And before the blink of an eye it seemed like everyone else had been taken.
She sighed before turning around. Where was Ray? And would he even want to dance with her. This was sure the perfect time to go back to the dinning room and eat her lonely miserable life away.
At least that was what she thought until she felt a slight tap on her shoulders. A rush of excitement ran throughout her body, causing her to shiver a little.
She had never turned around so fast in her life, It was ridiculous. Rays warm smile poured through her.
His eyes were the most beautiful shade of green she had ever seen. Jesus Christ! Ray in a suit? He looked so fucking damn incredible.
His suit was perfect. The all black suited him perfectly, standing out of the fact that he was the only angel even wearing black. He didn't seem to notice. His hair was messy and somewhat of wet in a fantastic way.
He was...
"Like what you see?" He smirked, and she regretted staring so much. She had so many things she wanted to ask him.
"Maybe." Alexy smiled back as her body relaxed. Finally. He was here, and she couldn't believe she missed him.
What? Silly girl! Get that feeling out of your mind or whatever!
"It's the full moon there on earth. That's why they celebrate. The full moon is always a good sign or an indication of something good to come." he smiled wider, showing of his perfect teeth. "We have seven dances and it would make me the happiest angel here tonight if you agreed to have this dance with me?"
His voice was welcoming and genuine as always. Why wouldn't she want to dance with him?
He seemed surprised when she laughed then took his hand.
"Only one dance." She stated.
