Alexandra's POV:

Alexy ran up the stairs hurrying her way to peters laboratory. He had sent her a message back at crest falls. That he wanted to talk to her.

This was the first time he actually seemed serious.

Alexy could not help but feel shaken by her encounter last night.

The other detectives still think it was a human that they are after, but last night had proved them all wrong, earlier she had told detective Paul that she had seen nothing.

The fact she woke up in her apartment made is all confusing.

What if she never left. What if everything that happened including Paul assigning her on the case didn't even happen or her even meeting Tyler or even peter wanting to see her.

Before she opened the door.

She robed her both hands on her face making sure neither side was disfigured. Lucky for her it wasn't.

"Detective!" peter said, approaching her in a hurry. She could not understand his urgency.

"Good morning, Peter." Alexy said.

"There's nothing good about the morning" peter declared.

"I have something to show you." he added. With all seriousness.

Alexy followed him from behind. It was all too serious, this was the first-time peter seemed focused.

On a normal day, he would only talk about comics he wanted to read.

Then all this Japanese game or so, but whatever it was, didn't seem like a joking matter.

He finally opened the second door leading to the lab.

This was the first time she had ever been up here, it had a large working table in the middle with the large stained glass and the long blue sofa, the amazing marble.

Then his enormous board that stretched from one corner of the room to the other. She was awestruck at the sight.

Peter rushed over then handed her 5papers. She couldn't really make it out, but she could guess that it was a DNA sample.

"What am I looking at?" Alexy asked, confused.

"I don't really know how I can explain this to you... so, this are the blood test you gave me to check out" peter said.

"Go on...." Alexy said, just wanting him to finish.

"So this cells are transmuting... reproducing, more than anything I have ever seen." He said, sounding amazed.

Alexy looked even more confused.

"What do you mean by transmuting... reproducing. All this are supposed to be dead cells?" Alexy said.

"Trust me. I majored in biology I know exactly what I am saying, whatever shit this is... now has like a double DNA." peter said.

"Double DNA?" Alexy asked, stunned.

"Yes, but one DNA is constantly feeding on the other."

"like zombies?"

But this time before peter could reply all of a sudden, there came a loud gun shot from down stairs, then followed by ear-piercing screams.

The whole place was in a very loud thunderous chaos. Alexy sprinted into action as peter followed from behind scared.

She ran down the narrow staircase. As soon as they both reached the last floor, she stopped in her track, shocked.

Way too many detectives were injured, she couldn't find what they were shooting at.

Whatever it was it probably already left. For just one second she felt her whole world go dizzy.

"Are you okay?" peter asked, holding her shoulders.

"I am fine... could you help me find Paul? Please just make sure his not hurt?"

Peter hesitated. Then finally nodded.

Alexy with that ran into the restroom. Breathing hard. She had never felt this sick in her entire life, it was more like the feeling of being drained.

Like she had lost more than a lot of blood. The most shocking of all she was sweating even in the cold freezing morning.

She opened the toilet door as she ran for the mirror. She looked at herself shocked, Alexy had never looked this pale before.

She examined her eyes again and again.

Noticing they looked darker than normal. Whatever she had encountered last night had somehow affected her.

Or was she just sick?
