RAY
Ray's heart instantly skipped a beat when Alexandra's eyes flicked open. A week had gone by and she had been Deathly ill. He was scared. Really scared.
He had no choice but to return to the Kingdom. The angels were known for their forgiveness. He had to put his pride aside to save her. She was completely worth it. Brave and smart.
His mother and father had gladly accepted him back, but they were a little worried about bringing a human into their strong hold.
He took the advantage and told them everything, right from his encounter with the Messiah, and that she really was the one.
The counselors argued that they should kill her before it was too late. Alexandra was the one that was going to cause chaos and destroy the very being that created the earth. Some of them considered her a monster.
She could choose between darkness and light. Ray was going to guide her through it all.
He thought back to her battle with the giant snake and what she had done. She was meant to restore the balance of the world between good or evil.
The whole prophecy about this so called child of the apocalypse was really annoying. It held so much mystery behind it.
Some that Ray couldn't explain. She was still Faithed with that monster after all. Ray couldn't beat that.
He watched as she pushed a hand to the bed in an attempt to pull herself up but tiredly failed.
Though With a blink of an eye he was at her side.
"Alexandra?" He asked, trying to hide the concern that ached in his voice. He didn't want her to worry.
Her head snapped to him in relief and surprise, "What happened_" but before she could finish Ray was hugging her tightly.
He felt her warm tears roll down his back, causing goosebumps on his skin. He pulled back looking into her eyes. She flinched as If scared of him or what he was going to say.
"I- I am so... So sorry." She wept full of regret.
"Hey, hey... This isn't your fault. You don't ever have to apologize for a thing like this. Ever. Okay?" He said, a hard look on his face.
She sighed loudly, but didn't look too convinced. Rays mind drifted off to his brother. Was he okay?
"Is there ever going to be an us?" She asked nervously. Still tensed up.
Ray was surprised. He wasn't expecting such a question. Though it had been running through his mind, but he covered them with an idea of it being impossible.
"I am not sure." He replied, honestly.
Alexandra didn't move. She just kept quiet. He searched her eyes for any expression at all but found nothing.
"Oh... " She murmured underneath her breath.
"Don't get me wrong. I want nothing more than to be with you." He admitted. "I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life trying to be worthy of you." She held her breath.
"But we can never be anything more than this. We could never have children or a family... Even if we tried, they'll be a Curse." He stood to his feet.
"So, am I a curse?" She asked hurt. The look in her eyes that minute made him want to disappear.
"If I am really this child of the apocalypse whatever... That means I am a curse right? With a fucked up destiny. Right?" She sniffed trying to hold back the tears that threatened to come pouring at that point.
"So, you're scared." She stated looking even more hurt. "you're scared of having another me. Another bastard."
"You don't understand... I saw it. I saw your future. Alexandra, I saw you... Happy. Happier than anything I could ever give to you and that hurt me. Our destinies head two different ways. Fuck. I wish I could change that. But you have a great destiny. And great future... Without me. That's how it was meant to be." He said, his green eyes had turned into a strange shade of red. The anger was taking control of him, it was like he wasn't used to being hurt.
Before she could figure out what to say to that he blasted through the window. With such speed, like he was trying to get away from her as fast as possible. His wings stretched widely from his back. It was different from the usual white wings she had seen on him before. This time it had a splash of black on it.
She crawled back under the thick cotton covers. Not even caring where she was. Luckily by the time she knew it, she had cried herself to sleep. Hurt.
