When I had finished packing, I grabbed Mia's wrist pulled her to the door. I opened it and started walking to the stairs but that's when I saw it.The police.
My heart sank and I froze for a second.
I quickly got back inside our room and put the lock on the door.
Okay, holy shit they're here....must've been that bitch at the front desk!
I gritted my teeth and looked at the window.
We have to jump.
I walked up to the window and looked down. Oh, how perfect! There was soft, fluffy, snow pulled at the bottom. If we land in that we should be fine.
My eyes frantically scanned the room and I ended with grabbing a lamp next to the bed. With all my might, I smashed it into the window, earning a crack.
I raised it, and smashed it down again, another crack. One more outta do it. I hit the window once more and just as I suspected, it shattered, glass shards exploding.
Just then, there was a knock at our door. Mia looked at the door and then back at me. I could tell she wanted to say something but she knew better.
I knocked the rest of the glass away and ushered Mia to it.
"Andrew Miller. We know you're in there. Come out with your hands up and give us the girl."
Not a chance, fuckers.
"Go, Mia, hurry." I whispered, putting a hand on her arm. She quickly shook her head, her pale face written with fear.
I nodded sternly. "Yes, jump now or I'll push you."
She frowned and looked out the window and back at me. The knocking got louder and more persistent.
"Now, Amelia." I order and she grabs at her short hair and shuffles towards the window.
"Andrew Miller come out now or we'll come in!" they shouted.
"Mia!"
She made a face and I knew she couldn't do it. Groaning, I shoved her out the window.
I heard her scream as it quickly started to fade away.
I smiled when they banged on the door. They were never getting us!
I jumped out the window and flailed in the air, trying to righten myself. I only had about three to four seconds before I severely broke something.
I pinched my eyes shut tight and braced for impact.
My body slammed against the snow, the sudden stop making my body jerk.
Pain flowed from my shoulder all the way down my back, making me gasp. Damn!
The cold surrounded me as I laid here for a moment, letting the pain pass.
Soon, I shakily stand, holding my wound. God that hurt. Though, the fall itself didn't hurt as much as I thought it would."Mia!" I called, raking my eyes amongst white, snowy, hills. "Mia, where are you? Are you okay?" I searched around, tripping in the thigh high snow.
I heard her groan and shuffled over somewhere to my left. I picked up my leg high, trying not to fall face first into the snow. "Mia, answer me!" my voice shook. What if she was badly hurt?
I moved the snow around, the cold already starting to numb my hands.
"Andrew?" her weak voice called.
"Keep talking, sweetie."
She mumbled something in pain and I quickly raced over to her.
Finally, I found her laying deep in the snow. "Oh, thank God you're okay. C'mon get up." I try to pull her up. She stands and shivers, looking at me angrily.
