I've been in here for two days now, going back to my shell self. The group therapy with River and Milo has gotten better, but they understood if I didn't go so they let me off the hook for a bit. But little did they know I'd stretch this out as long as I could.Group therapy is dumb and it dosent work.
Though, I couldn't be a compete hermit. They made me have social time and all I really did was sit and watch everyone talk or play.
The sad thing was..most of these people here were around my age, a few older, but many younger. Like, teenagers. There's at least two people who was insane. Like, their minds are gone. They were Tina and Kim. Kim was my age but poor Tina was only sixteen.
I heard she's gone through some serious shit, already born with mental disorders and witnessed things no human should witness. She just snapped. Now Kim, I haven't heard a lot about him. He seems to be calmer than Tina but he's also more violent. He whispers things to himself, sometimes laughing.
Once, he and I made eye contact and I though he could see right into my damned soul.
I was afraid of the man. I stayed the fuck away from him.
As I watched a few nurses talk with their patients, I felt eyes from my right. I slowly look over and see a girl, hair similar to Mia's, but her eyes were a pretty blue. She crept closer on her fingers and toes, almost like an animal.
"Hi.." she whispered, a small smile pulling in her lips. I give a slight frown but nod to her.
"Hi?"
"I missed you.." she breathed, coming a bit closer.
"Missed...me?" I now turn my body to her.
"Yes..you are my favorite. You're calm. You don't hurt me like the others." her smile dropped. "When you left I was sad. They hurt me. They hurt me."
I swallow and press myself against the wall behind me.
"I'm...sorry?" I don't know what to say.
"Shoo, Gloria!" said a new voice, sitting in the chair in front of me. She quickly backpedaled away and scuttled off on her fingers and toes. "Sorry about that." said the blond man in front of me, stubble over his chin. His wasn't as thick as mine, seeing as how mine wasn't even stubble anymore, it was a beard. "She thinks you're her hallucination."
He holds his head up with a hand as his hazel eyes look at me. "You okay?"
I haven't seen him around before. Is he new? Did he come here while I was gone?
I snap out my thoughts and nod. "I'm fine." when have I ever been fine?
"I'm Brody. You must be Andrew, right?"
I nod again. "How do you know me?"
"Nurse's haven't shut up about you and Mia. She's...your wife, right?"
My eyebrows knit together. "That's...right.." I reply slowly.
"Yeah, well you've been pretty much been the talk around here ever since...oh..never mind."
"What? Ever since what?"
"I can't tell you that, man." he looked away, setting his jaw.
"Why not?"
"We're not supposed to tell you."
"Why do people insist on keeping things from me!?" I snap, mostly to myself. "Is it about Mia?"
His eyes flicker to mine before leisurely looking around the room. "Yeah, I can't tell you, alright?"
I groan, rubbing my eyes. I've given up fighting people a while ago, so knowing he won't give me an answer I change the subject.
