the meal can be taught in history classes for the most awkward and uncomfortable tea of all. because, most frankly, it was really quite.
our dinner table was a four seater table, mum was sitting in front of me, Isaac on my right, and dad in front of Isaac. my mother wasn't the best cook, and she admits that, so the meal only consisted of mashed potatoes and roasted chicken and soup.
our family rarely had tea together, if ever. so, knowing that they bothered to do so this evening, i guessed that they had something important to say. and i knew that it was related to me. i was thankfull that Isaac was there, sitting on my left.
my mother offered Isaac food and he thanked the lady and took some. my mum's food was terrible, i was surprised that Isaac ate that much.
but, one good thing i figured out this day, is that Isaac was left handed. or, at least, he ate with his fork in his left hand, even when he wasn't using his knife. the table was silent and no one dared to say something, every a couple of minutes i'd glance at Isaac only to find him staring back at me. he would give me his award winning smile and i would try my best to return it with my weak smile.
my mother sliced the silence. she leaned forward into the table and rested both elbows on the table, making a triangle under her chin. "so, Isaac," she called called his attention. Isaac's eyes looked up from his plate, surprise dancing in his eyes.
Isaac swallowed. "yes, ma'am?" my mother glanced at me then back at him.
"are you and my daughter together?" Isaac, meet my straightforward mother. mother, meet Isaac. Isaac was taken back by my mother. But, i couldn't really blame him because hell I was taken back by the woman.
Isaac soon recovered and looked at me for assurance, for me to confirm it to him. i gave him a smile, he returned it with a grin and turned to face my mother, the grin still on his face. "yes, i believe we are"
my mother hummed in return and just when i thought that she would shut up, she decided to speak up. and boy, did i wish she didn't.
"you're familiar with Abbigail's behaviours, aren't you?" she said it so casually, like the "behaviours" were an every day activity for the human race. my hand holding the fork started shaking. i put the fork next to my plate and held my hand with the other under the table. i took in a shaken breath.
my eyes were starting to blur with tears, i wasn't sure whether it was angry tears or not. Isaac replied to my mother with gritted teeth. "yes, i am." Isaac's hand found both of mine under the table and rested on them.
"marvellous," what's exactly so marvellous, mother? "you'd like to hear what me and her father decided about her case, then" my case? why is she making it seem like i'm a patient in a nut house?
"just spit it" i spat, not even trying to stop the words. she gave me a look and i just rolled my eyes at her, eyes still blurry. Isaac gave my hands a squeeze.
my father coughed and cleared his throat. he spoke for the first time. "your mother and i have talked about you and came to the conclusion that you need help from a professional and experienced person"
i scoffed. "i need help?" my mother just nodded. is that lady for real?
"you're kidding me right?" i asked, not believing this one bit. the woman let out a not so humorous laugh.
"i don't get why you're so surprised, sweetie" she said, her hands moving all over the place. "i mean, this is good for you, me and your father are doing this for you, because we care"
"that's bullshit and you bloody know it," i stood up and pointed at her. "if you cared so fucking much, you would've done all that. if you cared so much, i wouldn't even be acting with these fucking 'behaviours'. if you cared you would have realised that i'm actually getting better because of Isaac. so, thank you for not caring enough because if you did then Isaac wouldn't be standing next to me.
"yes, i appreciate everything you didn't do because then i wouldn't have met Isaac" i blinked out the tears. i hated how i was shouting at first then by the end of it it was a whisper. i stepped out of the chair and tucked it in the table, making eye contact with both of my parents.
i walked out of the dining room. i heard the sound of a chair moving then Isaac speaking to my parents, "nice meeting you, bitch. dick." even though tears were falling hot on my face, a smile appeared on my face and i tried to stifle my laugh.
i was looking out of window, watching how droplets of water were dancing on my window, the rain was falling hard outside. and i thought that it was going to be a nice day today. i turned around when i heard the door of my room close.
"do you fancy a cup of tea?" Isaac said, smiling innocently at me, like he didn't just call my parents names. i recognised the tea cup as the one my mother offered for us to drink. i hate that flavour.
i smiled at him a little and shook my head. he shrugged, careful not to spill the hot tea on him, and took a sip of it then carefully putting the cup on my study desk.
i looked at the floor, not risking looking at him and falling into tears. i caused myself enough humiliation, i shouldn't have let Isaac accept the offer.
"hey," Isaac said in a low tone. he was standing a feet away. he stepped closer to me that instead of looking at the floor I was looking at his trainers. Isaac gently grabbed my chin and made me look at him. and like I expected, tears were starting to fall, one by one, down my cheek. Isaac hand went to cup my cheek, his thumb wiping the tears away.
Isaac eyes were hypnotising, and i felt like if he told me to do anything I'd do it without even thinking. their blue was do magical, it felt like i was drowning in their ocean every time i stare at them. his voice was so delicate as he spoke, like how silk felt against your skin.
"it's fine. there's nothing wrong, you're fucking awesome. they're just judgemental pricks you shouldn't even be living in the same house as them. you're fine and you do need help from anyone. i'm always there for you if you need anyone, i promise on my mother's grave. don't let their words get to you, because you are fine.O.K?"
i nodded and attached our lips together, because his lips were just teasing me by so close but yet too far. our lips moved slowly, we were taking our sweet time because why the hurry? we're alone in this world.
"o.k." i said against his lips, not pulling back for a second. Isaac smiled against my lips and that's when the action began.
omg the lights went out by the last part and maybe that's why I made them make out ;)))
