I was sitting on the couch in the lounge room of Madison and I's flat, flicking through the channels on the shit television we had. I push up the glasses that sit on the bridge of my nose and yawn slightly, tugging the blanket that I wrapped around myself earlier tighter around me. Madison left about an hour or so ago to spend a week or so with her family back in Adelaide. I used to live in Adelaide, too.

Madison moved to Sydney with her older sister, and invited me to move out with her. I, of course, happily obliged to the offer. Sooner or later, Madison's older sister bailed out on us to go live in the United States with her boyfriend of six years, and we were left with her flat. Madison decided to join the nearest school - which just so happened to be the school that the three fourths of the lads went to. I took the opportunity upon myself to drop out and literally not give a shit anymore.

I jump slightly as my phone starts ringing beside me. I look down at it and see that it's Michael calling and smile slightly. Michael and I are pretty close. We have that bond that I don't share with any of our other friends. (No, we're not friends with benefits.) I pick up my phone and slide the green to accept. (bold = maegan italic = michael)

"Hello?"

"Hey, Maegan!"

"Hey, Mike. What's up?"

"What are you doing today?"

"Literally nothing. Why?"

"The boys and I are going out and about in town and wondered if you wanted to come with us. So, do ya?"

"Yeah, sure. When?"

"We'll be by yours in about thirty minutes."

"Alright, bye, Mikey, love you."

"Bye, Maegan, love you, too."

I take the phone away from my ear and press the 'end call' button. I know what you're thinking - best friends don't say 'I love you.' Well, my theory is: who gives a shit? Michael, Ashton, Luke, and Madison are like brothers (and a sister!) to me, and I love my family. I get up from the couch and navigate my way towards the stairs and upwards into my room.

I walk to my closet and grab a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a random band tee before going into the bathroom and changing. I decide to not straighten my hair due to the fact that I'm practically only going to be hanging out with the boys and that I only have like five more minutes. I quickly grab my phone and shove it into my back pocket after I put on and tie my black Vans.

I jog down the stairs just as Michael, Ashton, Luke, and Calum barge into the apartment.

"Damn, am I going to regret giving you all spare keys to this flat," I mutter under my breath before looking up at them expectantly. "We leavin' or what?"

I laugh slightly at the bluntness of the four boys before I see Michael squatting in front of me.

"What the actual fuck are you doing, Mikey?" I ask, trying to stifle another laugh.

"I'm trying to give you a piggy back ride," Michael remarks like it's like the most obvious thing on the earth.

I just shake my head and hop onto his back and place my arms around his neck, loosely; he secures his hands under my thighs as he stands and begins to walk.

"Onward!" I exclaim, pointing out the door with my finger.

The boys and I laugh as we lock up the flat and head out.

-----

"Michael, where are we going?" Ashton whines, leaning against me slightly. We had been walking around the mall in which I work in aimlessly for hours now, and haven't even went in one store.

"Yeah, Mikey. We've been here, like, three hours, and haven't done shit. What gives?" Luke pipes up. I shove his shoulder gently and he sticks his tongue out at me, causing me to stick mine out at him as well.

"I honestly just wanted to see how long you guys would put up with just walking when there's food in the same building," he shrugs nonchalantly.

I pout slightly and trudge over to Calum, hugging him from behind. He turn around and smiles down at me before wrapping his left arm around my waist and following the others to the food court.

-----

"Okay, I know I've known you guys, practically, all my life," I say as I finish my second slice of pizza, "but, this one question is still stuck in my head."

"What's the question?" Michael asks, cocking an eyebrow.

"Why are you all inhumanly tall?? Like, Luke's practically nine feet tall!! How?!?" I exclaim, moving my hands wildly in the hair to gesture how tall these guys were. They laugh and shake their heads.

"Maybe you're just freakishly short," Calum shrugs, causing me to hit his shoulder playfully, laughing as I do so.

"It's not my fault I'm fucking five foot four, and you're all trees," I mutter under my breath before taking a sip of my Pepsi.

------

I fall backwards onto my bed and close my eyes. Today has been a good day, but a long day. Today has been a good long day. The only sad part was that it was only seven o'clock at night, and I was already asleep.

idk how i feel about this one tbh.. sorry for the filler. :-/
